With more than 30 years of experience helping customers extract and concentrate flavors, the Australian company Flavourtech will become Aquaporin’s partner in the aroma and coffee extraction segments.

Aquaporin’s CEO Matt Boczkowski sees great potential in the collaboration for both parties:

“Based on their excellent reputation, knowledge, and strong customer relations built over decades in the F&B industry, Flavourtech is an ideal partner to bring Aquaporin’s natural concentration technology to the market. With this new technology, Flavourtech will be able to deliver a new and innovative solution to their global customer base that pushes the boundaries of aroma and flavor retention.”

Leon Skaliotis, General Manager at Flavourtech, agrees:

“We see a great potential in partnering with Aquaporin due to their unique technology which will enable us to further assist our customers to provide higher quality products and so keep differentiating themselves from their competition.” He adds:

“This is definitely a step in the right direction, a step forward in technologies and to a bright future with better flavors, naturally.”

Creating great tasting natural aromas without heat or pressure

Aquaporin’s natural concentration technology is a revolutionary method of concentrating natural aromas without using traditional heat and pressure processes. In this way, customers in the F&B industry can produce highly concentrated, natural aroma concentrates bursting with original flavors and characteristics of everything from fruits and berries to coffee.

Until now, aroma concentrates have mainly been produced using thermal evaporation which is both energy-consuming and results in a loss and change of flavor and fragrance. Aquaporin’s natural concentration technology uses nature’s own water filtration process to extract water from raw ingredients, and the system incorporates the company’s decade-long experience in application development to bring a powerful and easy-to-use solution to customers.

Building a long-term collaboration

“The relationship between Flavourtech and Aquaporin has been under development for quite some time, and we are pleased that we are now ready to take the next step and accelerate the rate of market penetration. We look forward to further strengthening the bonds between our companies and collaborating even closer going forward,” says Yunfeng Li, Commercial Director, F&B, Aquaporin.

In the agreement, Flavourtech will have the rights and responsibility to market and sell Aquaporin systems and membranes exclusively in the coffee aroma and flavor segments and in coffee and tea extracts on a project basis. As part of the agreement, Flavourtech will purchase a system from Aquaporin to further develop the market for this new technology and create next-level aromas together with their customers. The pilot system is expected to be delivered in the second half of 2022.

Water Cultures6.9.2022 12:00:00 CEST | Press release

Water has been one of the most important human preoccupations since the dawn of history and how we care for this contested resource is recognized as one of the factors that will define the future of humanity and the planet. As well as innovative solutions to the water crisis, we need to renew the fractured bonds that connect us to water and develop a more imaginative and equitable water culture. To mark the IWA World Water Congress and Exhibition in Copenhagen, Danish water technology company Aquaporin has commissioned a cultural program curated by Copenhagen Contemporary and Jane Withers Studio that aims to engage the water industry and the public in the global debate on water. Aquaporin’s close affiliation with culture and art stems from an interdisciplinary approach and a commitment to solving global water challenges by rethinking water filtration with biotechnology. A focal point of the program is the commission by Danish artist Karl Troels Sandegård, The High Seas of Your Intrinsi
