Aquaporin launches new Aquaporin Inside® brackish water membrane series

(Kgs. Lyngby, Denmark, 26 October 2021) Aquaporin A/S, a water technology company aiming to contribute to a more sustainable future within water treatment and responsible consumption of water, has today launched its first series of brackish water reverse osmosis membranes, designed for a broad range of applications including, but not limited to, wastewater treatment, industrial water and drinking water.

The Aquaporin Inside® CLEAR membranes, made for energy efficient treatment of brackish water, is a series of biomimetic products that get their unique properties from the Aquaporin Inside® formulation containing aquaporin proteins, nature’s water channels. All Aquaporin Inside® CLEAR membranes are available in standard configurations and can easily fit into any commercial or industrial RO system.

Matt Boczkowski, CCO and Deputy CEO, says: “We’re thrilled to announce the launch of our first brackish water membrane series. The membranes have been specifically developed to ensure high water flow and superior rejection performance, while minimizing energy consumption. This is a milestone for Aquaporin as these membranes are designed to fit into existing reverse osmosis systems, meaning customers can leverage our Aquaporin Inside® formulation for better performance in their current installations.”

The Danish water technology company Aquaporin has once again made it onto a space mission with its innovative Aquaporin Inside technology. Aquaporin Space Alliance (ASA), a joint venture between Aquaporin and Danish Aerospace Company (DAC), has been selected for testing in space in 2023. The mission will be led by the Danish astronaut Andreas Mogensen who will test the equipment at the International Space Station (ISS).
