Micro Matic achieves record-breaking revenue

The industrial group Micro Matic delivers yet another revenue record in the 2024/25 financial year. This year’s revenue of DKK 2.66 billion represents a 15,5 percent increase, primarily driven by acquisitions, with minor organic growth. Still, a new strategy and improved integration of recent strategic acquisitions will ensure increased organic growth in the coming years.

Strong topline performance and improved operating results. The 2024/25 annual report from industrial group Micro Matic highlights continued growth, with the company maintaining a market-leading position in beverage dispensing across 125 countries.

The revenue record of DKK 2.66 billion reflects the successful integration of strategic acquisitions in recent years. However, growth lower than anticipated in parts of the draft beer segment has constrained organic growth in the 2024/25 financial year. Despite this, operating profit reached DKK 252 million, a significant improvement over the previous year.

Overall, it is a satisfied CEO who reflects on the first full financial year following Micro Matic’s major strategic acquisitions in recent years.

“We’ve had a few years marked by strategic acquisitions. This past year was our first full year since the two most recent acquisitions, and we’re pleased to see that both revenue and earnings are beginning to reflect the impact of these deals. It’s very positive that we’re setting a new revenue record for the third year in a row, and that we’re beginning to achieve the expected synergies from the acquisitions,” says Lars Gjødsbøl, Group CEO of Micro Matic, and adds:

“That said, we didn’t fully meet our own expectations, mainly because the draft beer market has been cautious with investments, and because the topline, despite the record, developed slightly more slowly than we had hoped for.”

New strategy to further develop Micro Matic
In September 2023, Micro Matic completed the acquisition of the Disptek Group and its four companies — Taprite, DSI, Vinservice, and Disptek UK — and at the beginning of 2024, the group acquired the Croatian company Oprema.

These acquisitions strengthened Micro Matic’s position as one of the leading manufacturers and suppliers in the global beverage dispensing market. They also enabled the company to develop and offer complete dispensing solutions.

As a result, the new strategy places even greater emphasis on achieving the synergies that were the core ambition behind the acquisitions.

“There are two key focus areas in our new strategy, ‘Expand As One’. First, we need to better leverage our stronger and broader product portfolio in markets where we already have a solid presence, and among global customers who currently only purchase a small portion of our offerings. Second, we aim to strengthen our presence in markets with growth potential,” says Lars Gjødsbøl, and adds:

“Beer dispensing equipment is still the cornerstone of our business, but with our recent acquisitions and solid experience, we need to accelerate our development within soda dispensing equipment and the complete systems we call ‘Everything On Tap’.”

Continued growth despite geopolitical uncertainty
Based on the new strategy and the continued impact of the acquired companies, Lars Gjødsbøl expects that Micro Matic will continue to grow in both revenue and earnings in the current financial year. However, he acknowledges that the geopolitical situation introduces a degree of uncertainty.

“We have yet to see the full effect and the complete synergies of our acquisitions. That is also what our strategy is built on, and that’s why we expect continued growth in revenue. However, the geopolitical situation creates uncertainty around how things will develop,” says Lars Gjødsbøl, and adds:

“Among other things, uncertainty around future tariff levels and the resulting hesitation in decision-making could have a negative impact. On the other hand, we’re also seeing positive factors, such as declining freight costs, but the actual implications for Micro Matic are difficult to predict at this point.”
