Copenhagen, January 2025 — Ukraine House in Denmark announces the final event of its exhibition "Malanka: The Dance of Death and Life" featuring distinguished folklorist and costume designer Mariia Kvitka. The closing presentation, "Malanka: Traditions in Contemporary Ukrainian Cinema," will take place on January 25 at 16:00, offering a unique exploration of traditional Ukrainian culture through the lens of modern filmmaking.

The event marks the culmination of an exhibition showcasing the cultural heritage behind the acclaimed film "Pamfir" by Dmytro Sykholytkyy-Sobchuk. The collection features an array of 30 authentic costumes, 80 handcrafted masks, and exclusive production materials including props, sketches, storyboards, and behind-the-scenes footage.

"In Pamfir, I often reference photographs from my village expeditions. I wanted the film's imagery to be as authentic as possible, so I used photos from different trips. If I saw someone wearing distinctive pants, I knew it would work in the film. The villagers became a crucial reference for me," explains Mariia Kvitka in a recent interview.

Following Kvitka's presentation, attendees will have the opportunity to view "Pamfir," which made its debut at the 2022 Cannes Film Festival. The film weaves together themes of family bonds, sacrifice, and love against the backdrop of rich Ukrainian traditions.

As Russia’s war enters its third year, the question isn’t whether Ukraine will endure—but whether justice will. Copenhagen, Denmark – April 9, 2025 – As the world watches negotiations, ceasefires, and peace talks unfold, the reality on the ground in Ukraine remains stark. More than 180,000 documented war crimes, the forced deportation of at least 19,546 Ukrainian children, and relentless attacks on Ukrainian cities, homes, and infrastructure raise an urgent question: Can there be a just peace without full accountability?
