Ukraine House in Denmark is happy to announce its return to the highly anticipated Kulturnatten festival for the second year in a row. Following its successful intervention into Kulturnatten 2022 with the captivating large scale projection of the audiovisual show “Discover Ukraine: Bits Destroyed but Undefeated” onto the walls of the War Museum in Copenhagen, this year Ukraine House in Denmark is inviting visitors to experience the showcase of Ukrainian culture at its recently established premises in Gammel Dok.

The program of the evening includes:

18:00-20:00 Guided tours at the current UHD exhibition ‘Brave to Witness: Ukrainian War Diaries’ led by the curatorial team of the House in Danish, English and Ukrainian and providing meaningful insights into how the art scene survives and thrives in today’s Ukraine.

18:00-20:00 Engaging workshop for children, offering them a chance to reflect on the art they can see at the exhibition and create their own works in a unique technique of ‘double-exposure’ drawings on the transparent materials.

18:00-00:00 Outdoor Video Projection: abstract animation pieces by the award-winning Ukrainian artist Mykyta Lyskov, including an arresting “Imaginary Landscape” video will be projected outdoors, creating a captivating visual spectacle visible from most of the Copenhagen harbor

20:00 Charity sale finale: guests will have their ultimate chance to acquire the prints from the “Double Exposure” series by Ukrainian artist Inga Levi with all the proceeds aiming to support Ukrainian charities supporting medics and first responders working in the frontline areas.

"Since Culture Night in 2022, we have brought Ukrainian culture to the leading events and platforms in Denmark - from Copenhagen Democracy Summit and Architecture Festival to 3DaysofDesign and the People's Meeting in Bornholm helping the Danish audience to meet the culture of brave and talented Ukrainians, who are currently on the frontline of defending the freedom in the world. During Kulturnatten 2023 we continue to elevate the voices of the Ukrainian artists who dare to live and create in Ukraine, who refuse to be muted by Russia's crime of aggression and war crimes against Ukraine and who are courageous to witness and document the tragedy, the fragility and the beauty of life and the art of living in the present even under the most difficult of the circumstances," commented Nataliia Popovych, chairperson of Ukraine House in Denmark.

During the evening our visitors can try the variety of Ukrainian snacks and drinks, listen to Ukrainian music, explore our gift shop and newly established library. Join us for an immersive experience that showcases the rich tapestry of Ukraine's traditions and contemporary culture.
