STARK Group releases 2020/21 Sustainability Report
In 2020/21, STARK Group made significant efforts to support and accelerate the green transition in the construction industry. In April 2021, The Group committed to the Science Based Targets initiative and to achieve net zero carbon emissions by 2050 at the latest.
STARK Group reduced its carbon emissions from own operations by 31% during 2020/21 from a 2020 baseline. The reduction was primarily driven by electricity actively sourced as renewable, improved efficiency lighting, heating and ventilation systems, as well as initiating low carbon distribution with fossil-free diesel and a continued transition from fossil to electric forklift trucks. The Group works towards having 100% renewable electricity at all branches and distribution centres by 2030 and have a long-term ambition that its renewable electricity consumption ensures additionality.
