STARK Group expands in Sweden through acquisition of Kakeldaxgruppen AB and Centro Kakel & Klinker AB
2.6.2021 06:00:00 CEST | STARK Group | Press release

With the two acquisitions, STARK Group continues its strategy to grow the company organically as well as through acquisitions. Tiles are an important and significant part of STARK Group, and in Germany, the Group has, through Keramundo, a market leading position within tiles.
“I am pleased to announce the two new acquisitions in Sweden and to welcome our new colleagues to STARK Group. Kakeldaxgruppen AB and Centro Kakel & Klinker AB are both a great fit for STARK Group, as we believe that we can utilize our knowledge and experiences from being a market leader in tiles in Germany when entering the market in Sweden,” says Søren P. Olesen, CEO of STARK Group.
The acquisitions will strengthen Beijer Byggmaterial’s position in the industry, providing the customers with more products and specialist expertise within tiles.
Kakeldaxgruppen AB consists of three strong brands, Stigs Kakel, Kakeldax and Kakelcentralen. The Group has more than 30 years of experience within the industry, and with 11 branches and retailers across the country, Kakeldaxgruppen has a strong foothold in the Swedish market.
Centro Kakel & Klinker AB is one of the leading retailers of tiles with more than 50 years of experience. The customer base is mainly B2B and includes local, regional and national customers. Centro has ten branches, a central warehouse and a head office located in the Stockholm area.
“This has been a fruitful process with good cooperation between all parties. Reaching an agreement with two companies at the same time speaks to our ability to execute and our motivation to complete such a strategic move. I am thrilled to see our strategy play out in real life, as we take one specialist area from our German business and leverage it in the Nordics to build something unique. We are super excited to get so many new colleagues with deep competence into our family and are confident that our Swedish customers will appreciate this new expertise and our improved ability to serve them,” says Daniel R. Potok, CSO of STARK Group
The acquisitions of Kakeldaxgruppen AB and Centro Kakel & Klinker AB is subject to necessary authority clearances, expected in fall 2021. The parties have chosen not to disclose the terms and price of the transaction.
