T1A & FLEX IT COMBINE TO FORM A LEADING EUROPEAN CIRCULAR PLATFORM
7.9.2026 09:15:00 CEST | T1A A/S | Press release
Backed by the Eurazeo Planetary Boundaries Fund as majority shareholder and Dansk Vækstkapital (Danish Growth Capital) as a value-add minority investor, the group aims at becoming a European champion in circular IT economy through corporate IT collection, ITAD services, certified refurbishment and pan-European distribution.

Leiden, Copenhagen, Paris - 7 September 2026. Flex IT and T1A Group today announced the completion of their combination, forming a European platform in circular IT with revenue of approximately €150 million. The transaction is backed by the Eurazeo Planetary Boundaries Fund ("EPBF"), which acquired a majority stake in T1A in May 2026 and has now funded the acquisition of Flex IT with the support of Dansk Vækstkapital.
The two businesses sit at opposite ends of the same value chain. T1A, founded in Denmark in 2001, collects corporate IT equipment at end of first use, and performs certified data erasure and refurbishment. Flex IT, founded in 1991 and headquartered in Leiden, the Netherlands, distributes new and refurbished IT hardware across Europe through a network of approximately 13,000 resellers, and operates certified refurbishment capacity in Toruń, Poland, alongside rental and demo services.
Combining the two closes the loop. A device retired by a corporate client can now be collected under contract, processed at whichever certified site is most appropriate, and sold into the market and channel where it holds the most value - within a single group. Both businesses hold R2v3 certification, and the combined group operates certified processing across Denmark, the Netherlands and Poland.
Scaling impact. The combination directly supports EPBF’s ambition to scale environmental solutions notably in the field of circularity, waste and packaging, including refurbishment and recycling, resource recovery, and the sharing and second-hand economy. By bringing collection, certified data erasure, refurbishment, remarketing and pan-European distribution together in one platform, the group can increase the volume of corporate IT equipment returned to productive use, extend device lifetimes and reduce material loss and electronic waste. EPBF’s backing provides the capital, impact expertise and science-based framework needed to scale these outcomes across Europe and measure progress over time.
Leadership. Angelo Bul, Chief Executive of Flex IT, becomes Chief Executive of the combined group. Peter Hemicke, founder of T1A, becomes Executive Chairman, focusing on group strategy, and remains a co-investor alongside EPBF.
The combined group, with the support of the Eurazeo Planetary Boundaries Fund and Dansk Vækstkapital, intends to continue pursuing external growth to further expand geographical presence and its portfolio of services.
Angelo Bul, Chief Executive Officer: "The hard part of circular IT has never been finding a buyer for a good second-life laptop. It is getting hold of the laptop in the first place. Far too much corporate hardware is still scrapped, or left in a cupboard for three years, without anyone ever asking whether it could be used again. Together with T1A we can now take responsibility for the whole life of a client's equipment, from the day it arrives to the day it leaves and beyond. That is what makes reuse the normal choice rather than the virtuous one."
Peter Hemicke, Executive Chairman: "Collecting corporate IT and refurbishing it to a certified standard is a discipline, and it took us twenty-five years to build. Selling it across Europe, at the right price and into the right market, is a different discipline, and Flex IT has spent longer still building that. Neither of us could have built the other side from scratch in any sensible timeframe. What we can do now is take a device out of a company in one country and put it back to work in another, under warranty, with the chain of custody intact."
