KOMBIT signs contract with Aeven for a new operations platform
10.8.2026 10:00:00 CEST | Aeven A/S | Press release
KOMBIT has signed a contract with Aeven for the establishment, operation, and maintenance of a new operations platform. The contract has a value of just under DKK 700 million and a total contract duration of 12 years.

The new operations platform will provide a modern, resilient, and secure foundation for several of the joint municipal IT solutions in KOMBIT's portfolio.
Søren Kromann, COO & CFO at KOMBIT, says:
"With this agreement, we are taking an important step in establishing a strong and long-term operational foundation for some of the solutions that keep the welfare society running. This is a task that requires high quality, stable operations, and close collaboration. We look forward to getting started on this work together with Aeven."
Operations and continued development must be balanced
According to Søren Kromann, the new operations platform will play a central role in the future management and development of KOMBIT's portfolio.
"In a society such as the Danish one, where a large part of the welfare system is supported digitally, it is noticeable when the IT systems are unavailable. It has a negative impact on the municipalities' services and operations," explains Søren Kromann, and continues:
"We also live in a time when things move quickly. This is something that can be felt in the municipalities, where the needs change in line with reforms, demographic changes, and technological opportunities. KOMBIT must therefore be able to keep up when it comes to the continued development of our solutions. We must be able to do this while also maintaining stable operations."
A partnership with shared responsibility
For Aeven, the task is about establishing a modern and resilient operations platform, but just as importantly establishing a partnership around the IT solutions that are of great importance to the municipalities' work and to the digital support of the welfare system.
Søren Lorenzen, CCO at Aeven, says:
"We are proud to have been selected for a task of such significance. When digital solutions play such a central role in the daily work of municipalities, it places high demands on stability, security, and collaboration. We approach that responsibility with great respect. We look forward to partnering with KOMBIT and to jointly establishing an operational setup that both supports the solutions securely in day-to-day operations and provides a strong foundation for continued development over time."
High level of expertise characterized the tender process
Prior to the tender, KOMBIT conducted both a market dialogue and a supplier consultation to strengthen the tender material and support an open process in which input helped shape the tender.
"The process has confirmed that there are strong skills in the market, and we have met bidders with a high level of professionalism and an incredibly serious approach to the task. This has contributed to a good process, and we would like to acknowledge that," says Søren Kromann.
With the contract now in place, the work enters its next phase, where KOMBIT and Aeven will establish the new operations platform and migrate Støttesystemerne onto the platform as the first step.
