STARK Group has published its first integrated financial and sustainability report. Covering the financial year 2024/25, the report marks a step towards meeting the expanded requirements of the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD), which will apply to the company from its 2028 financial year.

The company continued its ambitious climate efforts and, in the 2024/25 financial year, reducing its total CO₂ emissions by 0.8% to 4,901 ktCO₂e. The most significant progress was achieved in scope 1 and 2 – emissions from own operations – which fell by 10.6%. This development was driven by the transition to less carbon-intensive energy sources and the electrification of the vehicle fleet.

Scope 3 emissions, which account for 98% of STARK Group’s total carbon footprint, decreased by 0.6%. These emissions primarily stem from the production, use, and disposal of the building materials the company sells and distributes.

STARK Group is committed to the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) and has validated net-zero climate targets for 2050, aligned with the 1.5°C scenario and the UN Paris Agreement. As Europe’s largest distributor to tradespeople, STARK Group is leading the way in commercialising sustainability.

Louise Askær-Hune, Senior Director of Sustainability and ESG at STARK Group, says:

“The market for low-carbon building materials will not emerge on its own. We are taking the lead in bringing more eco-labelled future-fit products to market, simplifying documentation, and training our employees to advise on sustainability. It’s a significant effort in a market which is only beginning to show real demand. We’re experiencing strong interest across the construction sector to partner with us to find the solutions that are starting to be requested today and will soon become standard requirements.”

STARK Group now has climate data on 78% of all sales of LCA-relevant products used in typical construction projects. This data is being made available to customers through digital tools that simplify documentation processes. The company has trained 729 employees as sustainability ambassadors, and nearly half of its 18,500 employees have completed basic sustainability training.

In 2025, STARK Group received an EcoVadis Platinum rating for the fourth consecutive year. EcoVadis evaluates 150,000 companies worldwide on their sustainability performance, and the Platinum rating places STARK Group in the top 1% of companies globally.
