Join the fair and explore your municipality in an afternoon
Are you curious about what’s happening in your municipality and what projects are in the pipeline? Then don’t forget to sign up and drop by when MAGION is transformed into a miniature version of Billund Municipality on June 24th from 16:00 to 18:30. The fair functions as an open house, so you can arrive whenever it suits you. Feel free to bring your children or grandchildren along, as there will be kid-friendly activities available.

On June 24th, visitors can explore the entire Billund Municipality in an afternoon. The fair is organized by the municipality in collaboration with local councils, the Billund Landdistriktsråd, the business associations in Billund and Grindsted, Destination Trekantområdet, Billund Erhverv, CoC Playful Minds, and a range of private stakeholders. During the fair, you and your family can gain insight into the many initiatives taking place across our towns.
"Billund Municipality is experiencing rapid development, and there’s a lot happening. At the same time, volunteers across our strong communities are doing great things together, and the distances between towns are short. That’s why the municipal council is eager to support a growing desire I’ve heard from many – namely, for all of us to gain insight into the many activities we can take part in across the municipality," says Stephanie Storbank, Mayor of Billund Municipality.
What you can experience
At the fair, you can, among other things, compete with your child or grandchild in waste sorting and build your own city out of paper cups and LEGO bricks.
You’ll also find captivating experiences with Sdr. Omme Prison. Step inside a special truck to learn more about working in Danish prisons and about the training for prison officers, transport officers, and foreman. You can also hear about the ongoing construction project to expand the prison with a closed unit featuring 200 spaces. The current open facility already has 222 spaces, which will bring the total capacity to 422 when completed. Once finished, Sdr. Omme will be Denmark’s largest prison for inmates and will employ over 300 staff members.
You can also explore the many local activities, with several community councils offering tastings of local specialties. Take a closer look at future building sites and housing projects in the municipality. Alfabo, for example, will present their vision for Præstegårdstorvet in Grindsted, and the upcoming district of Travbyen in Billund will share updates on its progress.
Additionally, you can visit many exciting booths from organizations such as Billund Vand & Energi, Mark | Museet for en Ny Danmarkshistorie, Grindsted Gymnasie- og Erhvervssskole, and many more.
Get feedback on your great idea
If you have a great idea for an event, project, or initiative to strengthen your local area but aren’t sure where to start, you can visit booths from Billund Erhverv and Destination Trekantområdet. These organizations will share their knowledge, experience, and data on entrepreneurship, tourism, and local experiences.
Billund Municipality will also be present at the fair. Visitors can learn more about topics such as town profiles, renewable energy facilities, our volunteer nature care team, and ask questions about the Green Tripartite Agreement. You can also get helpful advice on how to apply for funding from our local grants.
This is a unique opportunity to learn more about what’s already happening in our towns and what exciting things are coming. So, bring your family or a friend and explore Billund Municipality.
