New Code of Conduct sets Safety Standards for 2.600 Danish taxis
Visitors to Danish cities such as Aalborg, Aarhus, Copenhagen, Esbjerg, and Odense are encouraged to look for the Safe Taxi sticker on the side windows of taxis. This sticker indicates that the taxi is part of the new Code of Conduct introduced by the taxi industry, which aims to enhance passenger safety and trust.

More than 2,600 taxis from five different Danish taxi companies, including Denmark's largest taxi operator, Dantaxi, have joined Safe Taxi. This broad adoption ensures that the Safe Taxi initiative is accessible in Denmark's five largest cities.
One of the drivers displaying the Safe Taxi sticker is Dantaxi driver Abdinasir Jama. He tells that his fellow drivers are highly supportive of the initiative and believes customers will appreciate it as well.
"I see strong support for the new Code of Conduct among my colleagues. As taxi drivers, we bear a significant responsibility to ensure the safe transportation of young people and others. I am confident that taxi customers will welcome Safe Taxi as an important initiative, especially in nightlife", says Abdinasir Jama.
A Visible Sticker Makes Safe Taxis Easy to Identify
To help customers identify a Safe Taxi, all participating taxis carry a visible sticker on their side window. Customers booking a taxi by phone or app through one of the affiliated companies will automatically be assigned a Safe Taxi.
Participating Companies Commit to the 10 Principles.
Under current legislation, all Danish taxis are already subject to safety regulations, including requirements for camera and GPS monitoring. The Safe Taxi initiative builds on this foundation, requiring participating companies to adhere to 10 principles:
- Requirement for a Clean Criminal Record at Hiring
- Ongoing Requirement for a Clean Criminal Record
- Introduction to Customer Service Policy
- Measures During Employment
- Prevention of Harassment
- Quick and Thorough Case Handling
- Initiating Case Handling Within Two Business Days
- Reporting to the Danish Road Traffic Authority
- Reporting to the Police
- Zero Tolerance for Harassment Cases
On the website, tryg.taxi/en, all interested parties can learn more about the initiative, view a list of taxi companies enrolled, and find useful tips for comfortable taxi experience.
