STARK Group awarded Builders' Merchant of the Year in Sweden for the second consecutive year
11.10.2024 12:00:00 CEST | STARK Group | Press release
For the second time in a row, STARK Group's Swedish business, Beijer Byggmaterial, has been awarded Builders’ Merchant of the Year in Sweden. The award was presented at the Market Awards on 10 October at the Grand Hôtel in Stockholm.

Beijer Byggmaterial was recognised for its exceptional ability to continuously enhance the customer experience, refine its offerings, and improve communication and logistics. The jury highlighted Beijer’s impressive achievement of increasing sales despite a declining market, a feat that secured their victory at the Market Awards 2024.
CEO of Beijer Byggmaterial, Geir Thomas Fossum says:
“I couldn't be more proud of all our employees throughout Sweden. Despite a challenging, declining market, we're doing an outstanding job across all our branches, logistics centres, and at our headquarters. Winning the 'Builders’ Merchant of the Year' award for the second year in a row is a true testament to our quality and demonstrates that the dedication and passion we have at Beijer truly make a difference.”
Earlier this month, STARK Group’s British brand, Jewson, received a high commendation in the National Merchant of the Year category and the title of Timber Merchant of the Year at the annual Builders Merchants Journal awards in London.
About Market Awards
The Market Awards are awarded to the top companies in the ten largest retail sectors in Sweden. The choice of winners is based on a survey conducted by Market magazine and the Centre for Retailing at the Stockholm School of Economics. The survey examines five areas: sales and profit growth and other financial metrics, customer experience, brand strength and market position, innovation and sustainability.
