The Royal Danish Opera, already planning its 2027/2028 repertoire, has appointed an Artistic Director through 2031 to ensure artistic continuity.

Chairman of the Board, Lars Barfoed, states: “The Opera is flourishing, attracting international recognition. As the Board, we are dedicated to fostering this progress, and we have full confidence in Elisabeth Linton’s ability to maintain the Royal Danish Opera’s artistic excellence.”

I am excited to build upon the foundation we’ve laid with our dedicated artists and staff. The Royal Danish Opera is, and must remain, a leader in the Nordic opera landscape. I’m committed to delivering top-class performances that keep opera vibrant and relevant, and at the highest levels, building on the finest Danish and international talent.
