In just a few years, Viggo has established itself as the third-largest taxi company in Denmark, with a fleet exclusively composed of electric vehicles. Additionally, the company has secured a leading position in Denmark in operating ultra-rapid charging stations tailored towards the specific needs of professional drivers and fleet customers in urban areas.

To drive Viggo's continued growth, Kim Meikel Rose has been appointed CFO starting May 1st. Adding 15 years of experience in infrastructure, energy and mobility sector financing to the team, this appointment is a key step supporting Viggo's ambitions for international roll-out of its infrastructure projects.

"Kim Meikel has substantial expertise in supporting the growth of infrastructure companies by raising capital and securing infrastructure financing. His skills will be key as we scale up our presence nationally and internationally, focusing on our rapid-charging business, where we aim to quadruple the number of charging points in 2024," says Kenneth Herschel, CEO and co-founder.

Kim Meikel Rose joins from a director position at IMPROVED Corporate Finance, specialising in M&A and capital raising within the technology, energy and mobility sectors. His previous roles include advising on energy and infrastructure M&A and financing transactions at RBC Capital Markets, DC Advisory, and Ernst & Young.

"I’m excited to join Viggo as the company strategically pivots towards developing a leading public charging network for professionals” says Kim Meikel Rose. “Our distinctive edge lies in our ability to provide solutions specifically designed to meet the high demands of commercial fleets and urban business customers. This approach presents a uniquely derisked investment proposition for infrastructure investors tapping into the global mega trend of electrifying mobility and commercial transportation.”

First international steps already taken

On March 1st, Viggo added mobility expert Nikolaj Køster to its executive team as Chief Business Development Officer. Nikolaj has previously held leadership positions at American mobility companies Karhoo and Deem out of New York and San Francisco. Nikolaj will drive Viggo’s international expansion plans through establishing long-term agreements with demand and location partners.

With industry-leading utilisation rates across its 5 ultra-rapid charging hubs, Viggo is ahead of its goal to deliver over 1 million kWh charged in Denmark this quarter. The company is actively preparing to establish ultra-rapid charging hubs in a number of major European cities, with its first international charging station set to launch this year.

"Viggo’s potential extends beyond Denmark’s borders. With strategic additions like Kim Meikel and Nikolaj to our team, we are ideally positioned to accelerate our growth throughout Denmark and in new European markets," states Kenneth Herschel.
