Since it was established in 1987, Gallery Weinberger Schandorff has focused on concretism – or concrete non-figurative art, which is defined as a composition constructed of lines and colors connected in an independent aesthetic style. An art genre that arose in the interwar years.

- This year we are exhibiting at Enter Art Fair with several exciting artists who have made their mark with new 'shaped canvases', sculptures and light installations, namely Hans E. Madsen (DK), Katrin Bremermann (DE) and not least the debutant Rasmus Refer (DK), says Mathias F. Schandorff, owner of Gallery Weinberger Schandorff. He continues:

- It’s our belief that materials like acrylic, mirrors and light and different formats will set the tone within the scope of concrete art in the years to come. And of course, we will see this trend at the Enter Art Fair 2024, too.

Hans E. Madsen is, among other things, educated at the art academy in Aarhus. His artistic work has for many years manifested itself in significant works in public spaces, all of which use light as a medium. Almost all of them are site-specific and cherish the interaction with their audience.

In her works German artist Katrin Bremermann explores the connection between reality and the illusion of depth and perspective, working in the tradition of shaped canvases.

Rasmus Refer is the newest addition to Gallery Weinberger Schandorff. His works include square reliefs and sculptures in acrylic, granite and iron. He currently works with acrylic with which he plays with both light and form.

Gallery Weinberger Schandorff has been running a gallery business in central Copenhagen for more than 35 years. The focus has been on both Danish and international contemporary art. In particular, the field of between the abstract expressionism and the concrete works has been the focal point  over the years.

Gallery Weinberger Schandorff has over time represented international artists such as Richard Serra, Michael Goldberg, Sean Scully and Danish artists such as Richard Mortensen, Ib Geertsen and Preben Hornung.
