Chino Amobi (US), Khalil (DK) & Soho Rezanejad (DK) at CLICK Festival 2018

CLICK Festival is thrilled to present three more acts at the concert lineup: two of the most promising Danish electronic artists - the Danish group Khalil, one of the festival's concert highlights, Soho Rezanejad, and one of the most uncompromising and visionary international musicians at this time - producer and creator of the music collective NON, Chino Amobi. With Amnesia Scanner, Moor Mother, Violence, SØS Gunver Ryberg and Rabit already on the concert program the lineup is now taking shape. More to come about this year’s festival theme and full programme which also includes talks, performances, installations and workshops.

Chino Amobi (US)

Producer Chino Amobi is one of the most uncompromising and visionary artists in the experimental hip-hop today.

The musical expression is a mix of electronic club music, hip-hop, R&B, noise, ‘80s rock and techno which can be experienced on the artists acclaimed debut album ‘Paradiso’ released in May, 2017. The title – Paradiso – is a lyrical and political reflection on everyday violence and racial issues.

With Nigerian parents and based in Virginia, USA, Chino Amobi – alongside his counterparts, Congolese-Belgian, Nkisi, and Portuguese-South African, Angel Ho – forms NON: a collective of African artists using sound as their primary media to articulate the visible and invisible structures that create binaries in society, and in turn distribute power.

Khalil (DK)

We know Nikolaj Vonsild’s androgynes, vibrato-tuned, powerful vocal which we have been able to enjoy in the last decade through the band When Saints Go Machine and in the later years in the electronic duo Cancer with Kristian Finne Kristensen. At this year’s CLICK Festival Nikolaj Vonsild performs with the project Khalil, allied with producers Simon Formann (aka Yen Towers and earlier Lower-member) and Villads Klint.

Water is the theme on the album The Water We Drink from 2017. The sound is constantly changing; destroying and violent, soft and gentle.

Soho Rezanejad (DK)

The Copenhagen based composer and singer Soho Rezanejad is known for her unique vocal performance and versatile work with electronic music projects. In May she will be performing at this year’s CLICK Festival following the release of her internationally critically acclaimed debut album Six Archetypes.

Beside her own releases, Soho Rezanejad has cooperated with Danish acts like Croation Amor and Lust for Youth. The sound landscape is dark and offers gripping productions that combined with a superior vocal performance and powerful lyrics sets Soho Rezanejad in a category of her own.

Through concerts, exhibitions, talks, workshops and performances we conquer back technology to the arts and invite our audience to draw the new maps. By doing so CLICK introduces the whys, the whats and the wows of tomorrow. Now. CLICK is developed and produced at Kulturværftet in Helsingør, where the festival is being held.

The content is curated by a large co-operation of Danish and foreign competences of artists, scientists, students and professionals working with larger and smaller unions, educations and companies. These group members are elected and curated by the administrators of the festival program and hold a close dialogue to their respective networks.
