The procurement procedure being announced by the Danish Energy Agency could entail a massive increase in Danish offshore wind capacity. The procurement procedure will enable establishment of a minimum of 6 GW offshore wind power, to be completed in 2030.

The fund for negative CO2 emissions (NECCS fund) has been completed, and the Danish Energy Agency has awarded contracts to three companies for new CCS projects. Together, the projects will ensure the capture and storage of 160,350 tonnes of CO2 annually during the period 2026 to 2032. This corresponds to the annual CO2 absorption from approximately 16,000 hectares of forest.

The Danish Energy Agency has concluded the Power-to-X Tender and six projects will win the State Aid. Four different companies are behind the six winning projects and can now start building up the production of green hydrogen in Denmark.

The government and a broad majority of political parties have made an agreement, establishing the framework for the coming 9 GW offshore wind tenders, with operations starting in the end of 2030 at the latest. The Danish Energy Agency and Ørsted Bioenergy & Thermal Power A/S have finalized negotiations of a contract concerning state aid for Denmark's first project with full-scale capture, transport, and storage of CO2 (CCS). The project will capture and store 430,000 tonnes of CO2 annually from 2026.

The Danish Energy Agency has opened the second round of market dialogue on the funds for negative emissions via CCS (the NECCS fund). The Agency invites interested candidates to an information meeting about the second round of the market dialogue.

The Danish Energy Agency has received offers from I/S Vestforbrænding as well as Ørsted Bioenergy & Thermal Power A/S in relation to the first tender of the Danish CCUS Fund and expects to award a contract in May.
