The Consumer Technology Association (CTA)^TM and producer of CES^® , the global stage for tech innovation, today announced that over 25 French companies were selected as CES Innovation Honorees, including the company Xooloo that was selected as one of the prestigious winners of the Best of Innovation designation. France’s strong tech presence at CES has grown exponentially with 210 companies in 2016 and 219 companies and counting already registered for CES 2017. The announcement came during the fourth annual CES Unveiled Paris , a half-day event uniting top media, industry analysts and key industry influencers to experience innovative technology in the lead up to CES 2017.

The CES Innovation Awards program is an annual competition that celebrates outstanding design and engineering in consumer technology products. The program recognizes two levels of honorees – Honoree and Best of Innovation – across 28 product categories. Products that receive the Best of Innovation designation are the highest-rated products within each category, and will be featured in the Innovation Awards Showcase, presented by the Henry Ford Museum at CES 2017, Jan. 5-8 in Las Vegas, NV.

“We received a record number of Innovation Awards entries this year in total, and a record from France alone, demonstrating the country’s continued commitment to technology innovation,” said Gary Shapiro, president and CEO, Consumer Technology Association. “In addition to our two Best of Innovation Honorees from France, 46 French products were named as Innovation Awards Honorees. These ground-breaking products will help fuel the consumer tech industry, improve lives and better the world.”

Each category of the CES Innovation Awards is evaluated by a three-member judging team composed of an independent industrial designer, an independent engineer and a member of the trade press. The team judges the products based on their engineering, design, functionality, consumer appeal and how they compare to competitors in the marketplace. Each product must be new to market in order to qualify.
