U.A.E Embassy’s 1st Interfaith Tolerance Symposium

Copenhagen, 1st May 2019- Celebrating Year of Tolerance, Embassy of The United Arab Emirates in Denmark represented by H.E. Ambassador Fatema Khamis Al Mazrouie, invited yesterday three distinguished Jewish, Christian and Muslim religious figures in the Danish society to participate in the Embassy’s 1st Interfaith Tolerance Symposium to discuss and highlight the role of tolerance in bridging the gap between different religions and cultures in globalized societies as a sufficient tool to achieve successful, peaceful integration and coexistence.

U.A.E.’s Ambassador provided a short presentation about the Year of Tolerance and the harmony which more than 200 nationalities experience in the U.A.E; Mainly due to the implementing of the legacy of noble values of the founding father, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan,  May his soul rest in eternal peace. 

Guest speaker, Mr. Hussein Al-Daoudi, Chairman of The Scandinavian Council for Relations, stressed the fact that it is only through cooperation and dialogue between public authorities, civil society institutions and religious communities the fruitful results of tolerance and harmony can be obtained.

Keynote speakers, according to religious chronological order, were Chief Rabbi of Denmark, Jair Melchior, Peter Fischer-Møller, Bishop of Roskilde & chairman of Danmission and Abdul Wahid Pedersen, Danish Imam & General Secretary for Danish Muslim Aid. All three participants highlighted the commonalities between the 3 Divine Religions, and the fact that all of them are built on the sole spirit of tolerance, where Prophets had always approached the unbelievers with tolerance. They valued also the benefits societies can utilize by embracing and cherishing the aspect of tolerance.

Participants at the symposium discussed as well how to avoid risks and potential acts of violence, racism and extremism, and to protect the unity of communities by advocating for noble values such as peace, love and tolerance.

Participants recommended that efforts should be devoted to promoting for the values of tolerance, peace, love, coexistence and brotherhood among all religions. This can be achieved by arranging joint initiatives to enhance these values in the community through culture and sport activities such as   mutual visits to the deferent worship places, schools, hospitals & nursing homes & Sponsoring events under the umbrella of “tolerance enriches intellectual societies”.

The United Arab Emirates Embassy in Copenhagen is preparing   for a Cultural Dialogue panel discussion during the Autumn of 2019.

Af Fatema Khamis Al mazrouei, Emiraternes ambassadør i Danmark Natten til mandag den 20 juli lykkedes det Emiraterne at skrive sig ind i historiebøgerne, da mit land som den første arabiske nation sendte rumsonden al Amal (håb på arabisk) på rejse til Mars fra Tanegashima-rumcenter i Japan. Emiraterne har hermed vist at rejsen til Mars ikke bare skal domineres af store nationer såsom USA, Indien, Rusland, EU og Kina. Motivationen bag denne artikel er at vi har bemærket at folk i Danmark, generelt var overrasket ved nyheden om opsendelsen. En del af overraskelsen har vist sig at være Emiraternes relative unge historei som nation. Interessen for videnskab går hele vejen tilbage til Emiraternes grundlægger Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, som etablerede landet i 1971 hvor han var overbevist om, at åbenhed for videnskab, nye ideer, og andre kulturer var vejen frem, og hans nysgerrighed og vidensbegær blev, og er stadig drivkraften bag den unge generations interesse for videnskab og udvik

Embassy of the United Arab Emirates Copenhagen The UAE Embassy in Copenhagen The United Arab Emirates coordinated on Wednesday, March 4, 2020 the evacuation of Arab nationals from Wuhan City in China. The evacuees will be received at the newly established Emirates Humanitarian City in the UAE and will undergo medical testing and monitoring to ensure their health and safety. The move follows the directives of President, His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, to establish a healthcare facility that will provide the individuals hailing from neighbouring Arab countries with the necessary monitoring and preventative medical care following their evacuation from the epicentre of the COVID-19 outbreak - China's Wuhan City.
