Først Tyskland og nu hele Europa: Den tyske iværksættervirksomhed, PlusDental, er en af de førende udbydere af usynlige skinner i Europa. Først for nylig kårede det tyske institut for servicekvalitet virksomheden til testvinder inden for kundeservice blandt syv aligner-udbydere. I maj udvider PlusDental sine aktiviteter til Danmark, og investerer omkring fire millioner euro i udvidelsen af den moderne tandregulering.

Danmark vil dermed være det 10. europæiske land, hvor Health Tech-virksomheden fra Tyskland er aktiv, efter grundlæggelsen i 2017.

Tandskinneproducenten samarbejder allerede med over 200 tandlægepraksisser i Europa, og har allerede gennemført vellykkede behandlinger på over 40.000 patienter. I Danmark skal antallet af klinikker vokse til over ti ved årets udgang, og der skal genereres en omsætning på to millioner euro.

Ifølge en PlusDental-undersøgelse* er 81,3 procent af danskerne åbne for behandling med aligners. Og hvorfor det? Den enorme prisfordel og skinnen, som næsten er usynlig at have på. Det afgørende er en høj kvalitet, medicinsk ekspertise og gennemsigtige priser.
PlusDentals forretningsmodel rammer plet hos danskerne: Milde til moderate tandstillingsfejl kan rettes gennem den digitaliserede proces med de højeste medicinske standarder, men billigt (fra 265,68 DKK/måned). ”Vi er næsten 60 procent billigere end almindelige tandskinnetandlæger. Vores vision er at gøre de bedste tandbehandlinger til at betale for alle”, siger Meijnen.
Hvordan kan det lade sig gøre? Kunderne får udført en 3D-scanning og får udarbejdet en omfattende behandlingsplan for deres tænder på en partnertandlægeklinik. PlusDental-teamet, der består af tandlæger og tandteknikere, udfærdiger derefter de passende skinner i laboratoriet. Alle behandlingstrin - fra tidsbestilling over design af skinnerne, og hen til fakturering - er fuldt digitaliseret.
Ifølge undersøgelsen har 49,4 procent af alle adspurgte danskere endnu ikke haft en behandling med skinne (eller bøjle). Og næsten 60 procent ville gerne få foretaget en tandregulering for et bedre smil.
PlusDental åbner et hovedkontor i København den 25. maj, i første omgang med fem ansatte. Teamet forventes at vokse til mindst 15 ansatte inden årets udgang.
Health tech-firmaet kunne for nylig afslutte en vellykket finansieringsrunde på 35 millioner euro. Runden blev ledet af den Hong Kong-baserede venturekapitalist og biontech-investor Jebsen Capital. Også den tyske VM-fodboldspiller, Mario Götze, er tilknyttet virksomheden. I 2020 kunne iværksætteren med de usynlige skinner generere et højt ottecifret salg og vurderes imidlertid nu til et mellem-trecifret millionbeløb.
Meijnen: ”Vi vil i 2021 ekspandere i andre europæiske lande, og ved udgangen af året vil vi være i stand til at tilbyde PlusDental aligners til mere end 70 procent af den europæiske befolkning. I 2022 ønsker vi at blive den første Unicorn med kvindelig ledelse fra Tyskland.“

Behandling med tandskinner har siden 2004 været anerkendt som behandlingsform af det tyske kæbeortopædiske selskab, og den er mere smertefri og mindre tidskrævende end konventionelle behandlinger med tandbøjler, da man ikke ustandseligt skal til kontrol hos tandlægen.
I modsætning til sine konkurrenter er PlusDental afhængig af den interne udvikling og fremstilling af tandskinner i tandlaboratoriumet i Berlin, og af de medicinske kontroller hos uddannede tandlæger.
Mere end 40.000 patienter har allerede gennemført en vellykket behandling. I 2021 kårede det tyske institut for servicekvalitet PlusDental til testvinder inden for kundeservice blandt syv aligner-udbydere.
PlusDental beskæftiger nu over 500 medarbejdere og planlægger at generere et salg på godt 100 millioner euro inden årets udgang.
