The Brahim Ghali case: clarifica3.6.2021 12:03:30 CEST | Pressemeddelelse

The Embassy of the Kingdom of Morocco in Denmark observes with concern the developments related to Mr. Ibrahim Ghali, namely his admission to Spanish territory under a false identity (under the name of “Mohammed Ben Bettouch”) and a false passport on April 17, 2021, at the express request of the Algerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The decision made by the United States of America to recognize Morocco’s full sovereignty over its Sahara is a turning point in this regional dispute, with all that this act entails as an undeniable legal and political statement with immediate effect. This historical decision in a form of “proclamation(*)” by the US President is, in fact, a recognition, without any doubt or ambiguity, of Morocco’s sovereignty over its southern provinces. It is the result of a lengthy process that has started three years ago under the direct supervision of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, and is in line with the constant support of the United States to the « realistic, credible, and serious » Moroccan Autonomy Initiative since its presentation in 2007. The Kingdom of Morocco welcomes this historic and decisive step towards reaching a final political solution to this regional dispute; as it will also help prevent further acts of violence by the Polisario, as seen recently in Al Guerguarat region, despite UN

MOROCCO LEADS EFFORT AGAINST COVID-1928.4.2020 12:40:33 CEST | Press release

While the alarm grows concerning the spread of Coronavirus in Africa, the management of this pandemic has proven successful in the Kingdom of Morocco, where outstanding human and technical resources and capabilities as well as innovative solutions have been deployed. Morocco has thus proven his capacity to contain pandemic situations as hailed by WHO and other international experts and organisations. Simultaneously, Morocco made a special effort multilaterally, by initiating a joint African Covid-19 Response, joining declaration of the Ministerial Coordination Group on COVID-19 on maintaining essential global links and mobilizing other countries in support of the appeal by United Nations Secretary-General on gender-based violence and COVID-19.
