Joint statement on accountability in Ukraine in connection with the UN's 77th General Assembly

Denmark, the Netherlands, Germany and Ukraine have issued a joint statement on cooperation for accountability in Ukraine. The statement was given in extension of a high-level side event held during the UN's 77th General Assembly on 22 September 2022.

18-11-2022 – Joint Statement by the EMASoH participating countries on the release of two Greek ships by Iran18.11.2022 10:39:32 CET | Press release

The countries participating in the European-led Maritime Awareness Mission in the Strait of Hormuz (EMASoH), Belgium, Denmark, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, The Netherlands, Norway, and Portugal, took note of the release on 16 November by the Iranian authorities of the previously seized Greek ships, “PRUDENT WARRIOR” and “DELTA POSEIDON”, along with their crews and cargoes. The ships had been detained since 27 May, an incident the EMASOH participating countries had condemned in their Joint Statement dated 7 June.

Her Royal Highness of Denmark Crown Princess Mary, together with the Danish Minister for Foreign Affairs, Jeppe Kofod, and the Danish Minister for Development Cooperation and Nordic Cooperation, Flemming Møller Mortensen, has launched Denmark’s candidature for a seat on the United Nations Security Council for the period 2025-26. The launch took place in New York at a reception held in conjunction with the 77th opening of the United Nations General Assembly.
