According to AIT’s Senior Vice President, Asia, Wilson Lee, expanding AIT’s footprint to South Korea builds upon the company’s existing reputation in the nation for pharmaceutical shipping excellence.
"The strategic decision to open offices in South Korea is the culmination of years of experience successfully serving AIT customers shipping in this region,” Lee said. “It’s also a natural fit for our continued growth plans in not only the life sciences market, but the country’s technology and industrial sectors, as well.”
“We’re excited to welcome this team as they contribute to our vision of becoming the global logistics provider respected for delivering a world-class experience for our customers in Asia and around the globe,” he added.
Equipped to provide freight forwarding services for air, sea and ground cargo, and primarily aimed at supporting the intra-Asia and U.S.-Korea trade lanes, the offices in the heart of downtown Seoul are steps away from subway and bus transit.
AIT-Korea's Country Director, Myung Kim, noted that South Korea possesses an optimal logistics infrastructure to support clients across a range of sectors, thanks to its connections with major countries and cities around the world.
“Located between China and Japan, we’re at the center of aviation and maritime logistics connecting the Asia-Pacific region as well as Eurasia and America,” Kim said.
Kim added that the facility plans to soon seek both ISO-9001 and pharmaceuticals good distribution practices certifications, as well as an authorized economic distributor license.
The new Seoul location joins the more than a dozen AIT offices across Asia—and more than 100 across the globe.
