Unveiled by the world’s largest communications services group WPP and its consulting company Kantar, the BrandZ ranking is the only one that incorporates consumer insights, making it a barometer in the global brand landscape.
This year, Haier’s global ranking in the BrandZ Top 100 Most Valuable Global Brands 2020 rose to 68th from the 89th last year, with its brand value increasing from 16.3 billion U.S. dollars in 2019 to 18.7 billion U.S. dollars in 2020.
Kantar has created the category of IoT ecosystem brand since 2019, and granted it to Haier for the second time this year, showing its continuous recognition on Haier’s leading place in the IoT sector.
Haier has demonstrated the charm and value of an IoT ecosystem brand through its outstanding response to global challenges, including the COVID-19 pandemic.
In 2019, Haier Smart Home, a smart home ecological brand of Haier Group, managed to achieve growth in revenue and net profit despite the overall decline in the global household appliance industry. Among them, its ecosystem revenue reached 4.8 billion yuan, up 68 percent year on year.
Haier Biomedical, a pioneer in applying chilled storage technology to biosafety and IoT, reached a growth of 32.74 percent in revenue in the first quarter of 2020, and a 92.6 percent year-on-year increase in overseas income.
Meanwhile, Haier’s COSMOPlat, a standard-setter in the global mass customization space, has delivered enormous value in fighting against the COVID-19 pandemic, facilitating the resumption of work and production, and accelerating business transformation of SMEs.
Haier attributes its robust development as an ecosystem brand to a concept called “Rendanheyi Model” which was conceived by its founder Zhang Ruimin, encouraging each employee to maximize personal value by creating maximum value for customers.
As a use-scenario brand, Haier is committed to providing users with enabling solutions for their pursuit of a better life. And as an ecosystem brand, Haier is engaged to empower other industries and businesses to build an evolving ecosystem.

Nippon Electric Glass’s IR Transmitting Glass “FI-02” Adopted for Heimann Sensor Lens Unit, Enabling a 120° × 68° Field of View16.9.2026 03:00:00 CEST | Press release
Nippon Electric Glass Co., Ltd. (NEG) (TOKYO: 5214), a global leader in specialty glass headquartered in Otsu, Japan, announced that its IR Transmitting Glass (chalcogenide glass) “FI-02” has been adopted for Heimann Sensor GmbH’s wide-angle lens unit for thermal cameras. The lens unit achieves a 120° × 68° field of view, surpassing the previous product’s maximum of 92° × 59°. The adoption marks a significant milestone for FI-02 and showcases how advanced specialty glass can meet the demanding optical and manufacturing requirements of the expanding infrared sensing market. Thermal cameras detect infrared radiation emitted by people or objects and convert it into thermal images. Infrared sensors can detect the locations of people and temperature distributions. They are expected to be used for people detection and monitoring, where privacy considerations are important, and for air-conditioning control, while their use is expanding in healthcare, equipment monitoring, and security. Study: Heatwaves Increase Cough Urge, Which Salt Aerosols Reduce15.9.2026 15:15:00 CEST | Press release
New Study Indicates Non-Pharmacological Aerosol May Provide Therapeutic Relief for Respiratory Conditions Provoked by the Atmospheric Aridity Inherent to Heatwaves SC Therapeutics, with University North Carolina, Imperial College London, and Boston University, announced publication on Tuesday in Nature Scientific Reports of results from a multi-institutional study indicating that the aridity inherent in heatwaves increases cough hypersensitivity in human airways by collapsing mucus onto cilia in a manner common to chronic respiratory diseases, such as cystic fibrosis, and asthma. The researchers find that alkaline aerosols of magnesium salts reverse mucosal collapse for several hours, and reduce cough hypersensitivity as reflected in placebo-adjusted suppression of daily cough bout rate (59%, p=0.03) and persistence of suppression post treatment for 1 to 3 weeks in a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled study of 10 refractory chronic cough patients. “Paris recorded 5,764 excess
