Ascom, a leading supplier of Healthcare ICT solutions, is extending its Unite Messaging Suite® integration capability with leading EHR (Electronic Health Record) systems by enabling advanced alert messaging for patient admissions, discharges and transfers. One of the most commonly deployed components of any EHR system is ADT (Admission, Discharge and Transfer), which initiates and controls patient movement.
For many hospitals the ADT process has remained largely unchanged over the past decade. Today, with intelligent integration through Ascom Unite, a more streamlined approach is available. ADT-related messages can now be sent directly to caregivers’ mobile devices, speeding up care transitions for patients. Whether it’s moving a patient from ER to a ward, or admitting a patient for a diagnostic evaluation such as an X-ray, sending alerts to staff handsets improves communication flows and response times.
