AGCO Names Dr. Helmut Endres Head of Global Engineering
AGCO, Your Agriculture Company (NYSE: AGCO), a worldwide manufacturer and distributor of agricultural equipment, today appointed Dr. Helmut Endres as Senior Vice President, Engineering, Worldwide. “We are pleased with the appointment of Dr. Endres to this critical position,” said Martin Richenhagen, Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of AGCO. “Dr. Endres will lead our product development efforts, continuing our tradition of developing leading technology solutions for our customers. Dr. Endres brings exceptional skills to the role, including significant experience with powertrain design.”
Dr. Endres succeeds Garry Ball, who made major contributions to AGCO’s product development efforts over the past 10 years. Mr. Ball will remain with AGCO and continue in a senior consulting role on various global engineering projects, retiring in 2012. Mr. Richenhagen continued, “I want to thank Garry for his creativity and tireless leadership in driving product innovation and quality at AGCO. Over the past decade, Garry has played an instrumental role in AGCO’s success by leading our development of cutting-edge solutions to meet the needs of 21st-Century farmers.”
Dr. Endres has extensive engineering experience and most recently served as Chief Technical Officer and Vice President Engineering, International Trucks and Engines for Navistar International Corporation. In that role, he led the engine engineering and quality engine programs as well as technical program development and implementation. Previously, Dr. Endres worked at Volkswagen (including the Audi division) for over 11 years in various roles including Executive Director, Group Powertrain and Director, Gasoline Engines. He was a member of the Audi Executive Board’s Product Strategy Committee and Chairman of the Volkswagen Group Powertrain Strategy Committee. Dr. Endres began his career with FEV, Inc. in Germany serving in various gasoline and diesel engine engineering roles. He was head of the European Business Unit, and led the Combustion Technologies Division. Dr. Endres holds a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from RWTH Aachen University, Germany.
