8.3.2017 09:03:39 CET | Business Wire | Press release
Digital Element , the leading provider of IP geolocation technology , today announced that VUBIQUITY, a global leader in premium content services, has deployed its NetAcuity hyperlocal IP geolocation technology to enhance its geographic rights management capability globally – with a particular focus on Africa and Latin America.
VUBIQUITY works with hundreds of film studios, television networks, and independent content owners to provide premium content to more than 1,100 global video distributors, reaching almost 109 million households. With the need for live and on-demand content to be accessible on-the-go, as well as at home, content owners require that providers implement effective IP geolocation filtering technologies within their content distribution platforms, to maintain distribution rights.
Operating a cost-effective business, VUBIQUITY offers a full scope of managed services from licensing to delivery, including digital and over-the-top content distribution to major media and video providers. VUBIQUITY needed to find an IP geolocation provider that would offer accurate and reliable data for African and Latin American regions. The company selected Digital Element’s IP Intelligence and geolocation solution, NetAcuity, to access very accurate, comprehensive IP datasets that have global coverage and are continually updated. NetAcuity is the defacto standard IP geolocation data in the industry, which enables actionable information about online users such as geographic location, proxies, and virtual private networks (VPNs) ― all while respecting the user’s right to privacy.
“We needed to access data in the African and Latin-American regions, and while the studios we work with do offer a list of approved IP geolocation technology providers, many of the companies tend to operate only in very specific parts of the world," explained Allan Dembry, CIO, Head of Global Engineering, VUBIQUITY. "Digital Element's NetAcuity is the gold standard in the industry, and we take comfort in knowing that we are using reliable, high quality geographic proxy and VPN datasets, which meet the studios’ licensing requirements."
Digital Element is the global leader and industry pioneer in IP geolocation technology. Its intelligence solution provides the most detailed, hyperlocal dataset available worldwide today that complies with the highest standards of end-user privacy.
Charlie Johnson, Digital Element’s Vice President, UK and Ireland, commented: “We are very excited to be working with such a rapidly-growing, global company as VUBIQUITY, to help improve the service it provides to studios and distributors. The ability to holistically evaluate user location along with proxy is invaluable, and our technology is empowering VUBIQUITY to uncover actionable insights into the behaviours of online viewers – while protecting their right to privacy – to deliver the best possible viewing experience for customers around the world.”
VUBIQUITY joins some of Digital Element’s other high-profile data management and advertising platform clients including Channel 5, Teads.tv, YouView, Hulu, CNN, Disney Interactive, Sony Pictures, Turn, Videology, ESPN, and many others.

Low AI fluency, uneven adoption, and marginal productivity gains are limiting enterprise-scale impact According to Forrester’s (Nasdaq: FORR) latest report, Accelerate Your AI Voyage, most enterprises are struggling to turn growing AI adoption and investment into measurable business impact. One of the key factors holding businesses back is low artificial intelligence quotient (AIQ) — Forrester’s measure of AI aptitude — with many employees lacking a clear understanding of how to use AI. Other barriers include an overemphasis on productivity-focused use cases, difficulty measuring impact, and siloed adoption within individual functions. While these challenges can leave firms frozen in doubt or indecision, the wait-and-see approach to AI adoption is no longer viable.
