Kyoraku Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Osaka, Chuo-ku, President: Takamitsu Nagase, hereunder “Kyoraku”) obtained actual vehicle test data for fuel efficiency of vehicle adopting Kyoraku’s original foamed duct in the air conditioner. Measurement Results Summary
Kyoraku conducted fuel
consumption measurement under the conditions of JC08 Mode in an air
conditioned light (under 660 cylinder capacity) vehicle. Compared to
existing conventional PE (polyethylene) instrument panel duct of 0.8mm
thickness, it was proven that, with Kyoraku PP (polypropylene) foamed
duct of 2.5mm thickness, the mileage per liter is
180m better with a 2.8 times expansion ratio foamed duct and 255m better
with a 4.8 times expansion ratio foamed duct.
Although there
have been needs of foamed duct for automotive air conditioning for the
purpose of weight saving, this actual proof of fuel consumption effect
is expected to enhance further appeal. In addition, if
the fuel efficiency figures are applied to weight savings of a vehicle,
they are equivalent to reduction of 15kg or more.
More
information on the test results will be released at K2016 (International
Plastic and Rubber Industry Exhibition) in Germany scheduled October,
2016.
Global Partnership
In order to expand its foamed duct
technology, Kyoraku is searching for potential partners worldwide that
are interested in utilizing the technology through licensing.

Low AI fluency, uneven adoption, and marginal productivity gains are limiting enterprise-scale impact According to Forrester’s (Nasdaq: FORR) latest report, Accelerate Your AI Voyage, most enterprises are struggling to turn growing AI adoption and investment into measurable business impact. One of the key factors holding businesses back is low artificial intelligence quotient (AIQ) — Forrester’s measure of AI aptitude — with many employees lacking a clear understanding of how to use AI. While these challenges can leave firms frozen in doubt or indecision, the wait-and-see approach to AI adoption is no longer viable.
