SailPoint , the leader in identity and access management (IAM), today announced the company has been awarded a US patent, titled “System and Method for Securing Authentication Information in a Networked Environment.” This patent recognizes SailPoint’s innovative approach to delivering IAM from the cloud that allows customers to manage user access across today’s hybrid IT infrastructure that spans on-premises and SaaS applications.

SailPoint’s patent, number 9,319,395 , describes the uniquely differentiated way that SailPoint protects the administrative credentials to applications and data which are required to support enterprise identity governance and provisioning services. IdentityNow^TM leverages the patented technology to maintain “zero knowledge” of the administrative credentials, including passwords, ensuring that even in the case of a rogue employee in the data center, the customer’s infrastructure will remain secure.
