CA-KOLLECTIVE
1.12.2015 14:08:55 CET | Business Wire | Press release
Kollective , a leading cloud-based software defined networking company, today announced the integration of their Software-Defined Enterprise Content Delivery Network (ECDN) with Skype Meeting Broadcast by partnering with Microsoft to enable a seamless experience between Kollective, Microsoft Skype for Business and Microsoft Azure.
Kollective SD ECDN is a proven approach to achieve scale for video distribution inside large enterprises. Once installed, the integration enables Skype Meeting Broadcast organizers to automatically use the SD ECDN to support very large meetings as a standard part of scheduling events on the existing enterprise network, supporting up to 10,000 simultaneous employees viewing the broadcast live inside the company. The combined solution does not require the purchase of any new hardware to support scaling to such large audiences. The solution is expected to be available by early calendar year 2016.
Kollective currently supports more than 2.8 million users using its SD ECDN within many of the world's most important brands. More than half of these users already leverage Kollective’s integration with Microsoft SharePoint.
“We have seen great interest in the market for Microsoft’s Skype Meeting Broadcast, and we are pleased to enable network scale for our joint customers,” said Dan Vetras, chief executive officer of Kollective. “Across our own installed base we see the critical need of having an ECDN solution in place to ensure a great user experience across all users regardless of device or location. The enterprise network is becoming more complex by the day, and we are convinced that an SD ECDN is the only way to provide the flexibility enterprises will need to meet their requirements.”
“Millions of people rely on Skype for Business for their day to day communication and collaboration,” says Giovanni Mezgec, GM of Product Marketing for Skype for Business, Project, and Visio at Microsoft. “Skype Meeting Broadcast together with Kollective’s SD ECDN will enable enterprises to scale without concerns to overload their enterprise network.”
