xAd , the global location marketplace, today announces the hire of two country managers for Germany and France. xAd continues to scale its international operations with leadership in place in these European countries, in response to the demand amongst marketers and agencies to connect with consumers using the context of location to create meaningful customer experiences.
France and Germany are two markets which have seen significant mobile growth in recent years, to a point where mobile now accounts for 35% of time spent in front of a screen in France, according to a recent study by PWC. In addition, digital ad spend in Germany on mobile is expected to rise 50% Year-On-Year in 2015 compared to 2014. Mirroring this mobile boom in local markets, in just over a year, xAd has also gained momentum and driven growth in European markets. These new hires mark the company’s continued dedication to growing the business in these markets which are showing high demand for mobile advertising.
Managing the mobile location marketplace in France is Fabrice Duvoux, a mobile advertising expert who joins the team from mobile adnetwork MobFox, where he opened the French office and developed the local business. Having developed a local footprint for a global company and worked in the mobile advertising industry for many years, Fabrice Duvoux brings expertise in mobile advertising and a strong understanding of the opportunities in the French market to grow and expand the xAd business.
Johannes Paysen will be joining the team as Country Manager Germany. With his experience in the advertising market and mobile advertising specifically, Paysen will be helping xAd to develop the platform and drive local partnerships. For the past 4 years, Paysen worked at Microsoft Germany – a position he joined following a role at freeXMedia, a company for network agencies. As country manager, Paysen will leverage his experience on the agency side to build lasting relationships for xAd in the local market, helping to maximize growth opportunities in mobile advertising.

A recent study from eMarketer found that by 2018 over 60% of all digital advertising spend in Western Europe will be spent on mobile advertising, highlighting the growing importance of this channel across the continent. In addition, within channel, the IAB Europe found that location-based advertising is the mobile trend that agencies are most familiar with.
