More than 2,300 companies participated in national surveys in 19 European countries where Great Place to Work® is represented, and from these, the overall list of Best Workplaces in Europe was determined.
The rankings are based on a combination of employees’ responses to a survey about job satisfaction and human resources management’s responses about company culture and employment policies.
Monsanto Europe was recognized at an evening ceremony in Luxembourg on the 4th of June, along with an elite group of 99 other workplaces.
Although Monsanto has already been recognized by the Great Place to Work Institute in several individual countries and globally, this is the first time Monsanto has been included in the Best Workplaces in Europe list overall. European countries where Monsanto has already received recognition recently include France, Italy, Spain, Poland, Belgium, and The Netherlands. The recognition covers the full range of the company’s activities in Europe, including its key Agricultural Seeds and Vegetable Seeds divisions.
“This prestigious award reaffirms what we already know here at Monsanto Europe,” said Leticia Gonçalves, President of Monsanto Europe & Mideast. “Our 3,800 employees take pride in the hard work they do every day to help develop and market efficient, innovative and sustainable agricultural solutions to help nourish our growing world. It is an honour for Monsanto to be celebrated by its employees and independent experts as an organisation that fosters creativity, trust, pride and camaraderie.”
”Monsanto’s public Pledge to behave with integrity in all its business dealings is as important as good human resource policies," she added.
Ibrahim El Menschawi, VP of Monsanto’s Vegetables division in Europe, Africa and the Mideast, said the recognition reflects a strong sense of shared purpose from plant breeders all the way to sales people and customer service. “We have a strong company culture that is focused on empowering employees to own their own career development, delivering transformational solutions to our customers and engaging in the communities where we work and live,” he said. “The mix is very important to job satisfaction and recruitment.”
