St. Regis Hotels & Resorts is delighted to unveil The Grand Tourista Scarf by Jason Wu for St. Regis Hotels & Resorts, inspired by the heart of today’s grand tour – where East meets West – in Istanbul, Turkey. Celebrating the upcoming debut of The St. Regis Istanbul in February 2015, The Grand Tourista Scarf will be available in three exquisite color palettes and will retail for usd $195 at www.stregis.com/boutique and www.jasonwustudio.com , beginning in November 3rd 2014.
“Istanbul is a city that offers endless inspiration; so I was thrilled to design a scarf collection for St. Regis that – at once -- captures the vibrant energy of the locale and reflects both our brands’ classic yet modern aesthetic,” St. Regis Connoisseur Jason Wu says. “As St. Regis continues to usher in a new era of glamour in destinations around the world, The Grand Tourista Scarf is sure to be the perfect accessory for today’s sophisticated traveler.”
The Grand Tourista Scarf by Jason Wu for St. Regis Hotels & Resorts is 100 percent silk twill with hand-rolled edges and features intricate geometric patterns in vibrant hues of blue, evocative of the ceramic tiles that cement the city’s design and architecture; beige, a softer neutral tone calling to mind the natural spices that fill Istanbul’s many bazaars; and grey, Wu’s signature color. Sophisticated, timeless and informed by the brand’s rich heritage, the collection of scarves captures the energy of one of the oldest cities in the world with a modern design, perfectly suited for today’s luxury travelers.
“As a hotel brand as international and informed as its guests, St. Regis is thoughtfully building its portfolio in destinations, including Istanbul, where there is a robust demand for high-end hospitality from a new generation of global travelers,” said Paul James, Global Brand Leader, St. Regis, The Luxury Collection and W Hotels Worldwide. “We are delighted to not only introduce The Grand Tourista Scarf, which wonderfully captures the soul of the historic city and the spirit of the new grand tour, but to offer our guests an unparalleled St. Regis experience with the debut of The St. Regis Istanbul early next year.”
Nestled in the sophisticated Nişantaşi neighborhood and surrounded by the Sisli district’s exclusive shops, The St. Regis Istanbul sits atop Maçka Park and boasts breathtaking views of the Bosphorus, from which Wu took inspiration. The residential 118-room hotel will be designed by award-winning Turkish architect Emre Arolat, channeling the glamour and spirit of 1920’s Turkey while incorporating a variety of contemporary art installations, including the Demsa Collection of Art.
St. Regis has taken special care to partner with ambassadors who share the brand’s commitment to excellence and speak to the passions of its guests, while offering an authentic connection to the St. Regis heritage. The partnership with Wu developed organically over the course of four years, when Wu showed his collection as a breakout designer at The St. Regis New York during S/S 2010 New York Fashion Week. Wu has attended many milestone events for the brand, including the grand opening of The St. Regis Bal Harbour Resort, and as a genuine brand enthusiast, Wu calls St. Regis home when he is traveling and entertaining.
The launch of The Grand Tourista Scarf follows on the heels of Wu’s Grand Tourista Bag, which debuted as the designer’s first product created exclusively for travel and the first accessory designed for the St. Regis brand.
