Continuing their partnership with Galleria Retail Technology Solutions, the leading provider of retail and category planning, automation & optimization solutions, Coop Denmark A/S takes the next step to better understand their consumers and enhance the customer experience through implementing Galleria’s Behavioral Cluster Planner .
As the largest grocery chain retailer in Denmark, Coop operates a varied portfolio of more than 1200 stores. Traditional clustering methods can make it difficult to account for localized demand with an estate of this scale, leading to missed opportunities and customer dissatisfaction. In order to combat this, the retailer looks to Galleria’s behavioral clustering solution to understand how categories are being shopped across the entire retail estate. A current Galleria customer utilising Customer Centric Merchandising for planogram automation & optimization, the implementation of Behavioural Cluster Planner will give Coop the ability to augment their consumer centric strategy with the automated identification of category variation and targeted store groupings combined with category strategy to plan, automate and optimize assortment and micro space in-line with localized consumer demand.
Putting the customer at the heart of the application, Behavioral Cluster Planner enables stores/ categories to be analyzed using granular performance data, enabling the fast analysis of consumer purchasing patterns across the entire chain in order to group together stores which show similarities in demand. This bottom-up approach to category segmentation will provide Coop Denmark A/S with a laser focus to drive targeted assortments and merchandising strategies that truly reflect localized consumer demand.
“We are very excited about the next stage of our partnership with Galleria and look forward to an enhanced understanding of customer variations across the estate," comments Lars Kejser Bob, Head of Space Management, Coop Denmark A/S.
The additional ability to overlay demographic information combined with Google Earth™ visualization will provide Coop with the opportunity to build rich category insights through identifying key trends driving particular consumer shopping habits.
“We are delighted to be supporting Coop Denmark A/S on the next step of their customer centric journey,” states Kristie Davison, Business Development Consultant, Galleria. “The combinational implementation of our automated solutions will make it possible for Coop to maintain centralized control over their strategy whilst taking into consideration local influence and demand to deliver an improved customer experience across the estate.”
