Dole Europe Import Formalizes Commitment to Sustainability by Signing Covenant with IDH

On May 26th fresh produce provider Dole Europe Import BVBA signed the Sustainability Initiative Fruits and Vegetables (SIFAV) covenant at Dole Europe's headquarters in Hamburg. The Sustainability Initiative Fruit and Vegetables, powered by IDH, aims to make global imports from developing countries 100% sustainable by 2020. "The SIFAV covenant is an important milestone and commitment for Dole Europe Import reflecting the continuous improvement in Dole's Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability policies as implemented in our operations," says Johan Linden, president of Dole Europe.

By signing the SIFAV Covenant, large retailers and brands commit to have 100% of their fruit produced in a sustainable manner by 2020. ICCO, Solidaridad, and Frugi Venta support the covenant with their sector expertise. The program is coordinated by IDH, The Sustainable Trade Initiative.
