TOSHIBA-TEC-CORPORATION
Toshiba TEC (TOKYO:6588), a global leader in printing and imaging solutions and services, is proud to announce to the manufacturing industry that Toshiba’s e-STUDIO306LP/RD30, the paper reusing system with erasable toner may contribute to cost reduction in the cleanroom.
Manufacturing sectors such as semiconductor, or liquid-crystal display (LCD) have cleanrooms as part of their facilities to avoid failure caused by dust in the atmosphere. Although papers generate dust by friction papers are still used in this highly cleaned room. To protect sensitive products, they use higher quality papers specially formulated to minimize particles and fibers. However, this cleanroom paper is very expensive, and in some cases it costs more than 10 times compared to the ordinary office paper.
The e-STUDIO306LP/RD30 is a unique MFP system with erasable toner that enables paper to be reused multiple times and archives the documents electronically via its scanning function. Since its launch, e-STUDIO306LP/RD30 has been installed in several organizations all endeavouring to reduce their cost. For instance, manufacturers can reduce their cost by reusing expensive cleanroom paper with this system: When using the same paper five times, 80 percent of the cost will be reduced.
In Japan, a manufacturer of photomasks which is used in manufacturing process of electronic components such as semiconductor has introduced Toshiba’s paper reusing system to reuse cleanroom paper in their cleanroom. Until they introduced e-STUDIO306LP/RD30 cleanroom papers were discarded after being used just like ordinary papers even though they are expensive. However, by reusing this expensive cleanroom papers several times with Toshiba’s paper reusing system it contributed to reduce their paper cost dramatically.
There are many possibilities to help manufacturers reduce their cost like the case in the clean room. The e-STUDIO306LP/RD30 dedicates not only to the ecological perspective but also supports customers from economic perspective.
