HP’s new range of notebooks, detachables and tablets for the Windows and Android operating systems will include Birdstep Technology’s (OSE:BIRD) Smart Mobile Data family of products giving support to seamless and automatic connection to the new HP DataPass service.
The HP DataPass service simplifies consumer connectivity by including 250MB per month of mobile data for 24 months on select HP devices. "Our customers use HP products while on the move and we believe there is a tremendous opportunity to remove the expense and complexity of connectivity,” said Todd Achilles, Vice President of Mobile Connectivity at HP. “We are excited to include Birdstep’s innovative solution as part of our HP DataPass service, we can bring innovation to market by making it easy for our customers to connect to what is important to them, regardless of the underlying network technology.”
The collaboration with HP represents a major step forward for Birdstep, giving device manufacturers such as HP, the ability to significantly differentiate their products and services in a very tangible way, according to Lonnie Schilling, Birdstep’s CEO.
