Posiflex Unveils AI-Powered SCO Series Kiosk to Accelerate the Future of Self-Service Retail

Built to address the evolving needs of both traditional fresh-goods environments and modern RFID-driven retail concepts, the SCO Series enables retailers to elevate operational accuracy, accelerate checkout processes, and future-proof store deployments through modular architecture, intelligent automation, and adaptable form factors engineered for next-generation retail.

AI-Enabled Self-Checkout Solution for Weighing & RFID Applications

Designed for diverse retail environments, the SCO Series offers two dedicated configurations: a weighing-scale model for fresh and bulk goods and an RFID model for tag-enabled retail.

The weighing solution delivers fast and accurate pricing for fruits, vegetables, and bulk items, featuring a durable stainless-steel platform, seamless POS integration, and real-time weight display to ensure precise, efficient self-checkout.

The RFID configuration enables automatic item identification and multi-item contactless reading without barcode alignment, accelerating checkout while improving operational efficiency for apparel, specialty retail, and unattended store applications.

AI-Powered Loss Prevention for anOptimized Checkout Experience

At the core of the platform, AI-driven object recognition reduces manual input, minimizes mis-scanning, and supports behavior anomaly detection. Optional AI loss-prevention capabilities and a large LED status indicator provide real-time alerts, helping retailers easy monitoring, prevent scanning error, and maintain efficient checkout operations.

Modular and Scalable Design for Flexible Deployment

The SCO Series features a modular design that adapts to diverse retail environments and store layouts. Retailers can configure optional modules such as weighing scales, RFID detection, and payment peripherals, including MSR, NFC/RFID readers, and a dedicated EMV mounting bracket.

Powered by flexible Intel® platform options, the system delivers scalable performance for cost-effective deployment from pilot projects to large-scale rollouts.

Flexible Display Installation for User-Centric Design

The SCO Series features a 15.6-inch true-flat PCAP touch display with an optional 10-inch customer-facing display for enhanced engagement. To suit different store layouts, the main display can be installed on either the left or right side, supporting countertop, kiosk, and full-standing deployments.

Developer Tools & Seamless System Integration

Posiflex provides a comprehensive Software Development Kit (SDK) with developer documentation and integration tools, enabling partners to integrate with existing POS systems, build customized workflows, and support advanced features such as AI object recognition and AI loss prevention. This flexible development framework accelerates deployment while supporting evolving retail needs.

Expanding its self-service portfolio, the Posiflex SCO Series now supports floor-standing and countertop deployments, as well as the Datalogic MAGELLAN™ 9600i Module support.
