Aqara, a global leader and pioneer in IoT, today announced the release of the Spatial Multi-Sensor FP400. The FP400 is designed to bring precise, spatial intelligence to homes without sacrificing the privacy typically compromised by smart cameras. Rather than simply detecting motion or presence, the FP400 enables homes to better understand occupancy, movement, and context for more granular and personalized automations and insight.

Aqara Announces the Availability of The Spatial Multi-Sensor FP400, Offering Advanced Spatial Intelligence for Smart Homes

The Spatial Multi-Sensor FP400 redefines how smart homes perceive and interact with living spaces by combining high-precision spatial sensing with AI-powered environmental understanding. Powered by a next-generation high-precision 60GHz mmWave radar, the FP400 delivers industry-leading multi-person sensing, precise real-time tracking, and occupant counting for up to 10 people simultaneously. Combined with Aqara's AI Spatial Learning software, it provides a smarter and more reliable foundation for advanced spatial intelligence.

One FP400 can cover a space up to 10m x 8m or approximately 860 sq ft with a wide 120° field of view. Users can also define up to 8 zones for highly accurate, localized automation. This enables automation to respond not only to whether someone is present, but also to exactly where people are within a space and how they move through it. For example, the ambient lights can turn on and off based on your movement from the couch to the dining room table, all with just one device.

Its intelligent AI sensing algorithm drastically improves reliability by reducing false triggers caused by environmental factors like pets, airflow, and robotic vacuums. A built-in ambient light sensor also helps trigger smart home scenes based on both human activity and lighting conditions. Unlike the FP2, this sensor is designed for even more versatility, offering native support for both Thread and Zigbee connectivity. As a Matter-enabled device, it ensures seamless, future-proof interoperability across major smart home ecosystems, including Alexa, Apple Home, Google Home, Home Assistant, Homey, and SmartThings. What's more, FP400 can be added and configured in the Aqara Home app without an Aqara hub by using an existing third-party Thread Border Router. The FP400 can also be installed on the ceiling, the wall, or in the corner, while AI-assisted mapping automatically detects room boundaries and entrances to make setup effortless.

The Spatial Multi-Sensor FP400 is now officially available worldwide. The product lineup launches in two versions to address different user needs: the Spatial Multi-Sensor FP400 for advanced residential smart home automation, and the Spatial Multi-Sensor FP400 Pro for assisted living and specialized elder care solutions.

Availability

For more information on the Spatial Multi-Sensor FP400, please visit the Aqara website.
The Aqara Spatial Multi-Sensor FP400 is now available globally and can be purchased through Aqara’s official website, authorized retailers, and major e-commerce platforms such as Amazon (Belgium, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Ireland, Netherlands, Poland, Spain, UK, US).

*An Aqara hub is essential when users integrate the FP400 into third-party Matter-enabled platforms in Zigbee mode.
**When integrated with third-party platforms with Thread, FP400 exposes only 1 overall presence sensor and 1 illuminance sensor.
***A pre-configured third-party Thread Border Router is necessary. Availability may vary by device or platform.
