QTSP status allows for full control over the digital trust value chain from identity verification to qualified electronic signature (QES) issuance

Fourthline Trust Services AB, a subsidiary of Fourthline, has been granted qualified status under the EU's eIDAS Regulation (910/2014)¹ and is now listed on the EU Trusted List as a Qualified Trust Service Provider (QTSP). Supervised by the Swedish Post and Telecom Authority (Post- och telestyrelsen, PTS), Fourthline Trust Services AB issues qualified certificates for electronic signatures.

Fourthline, is the leading European provider of AI-powered identity verification (IDV) and compliance solutions.

This milestone allows Fourthline full control over the entire digital trust value chain from identity verification to qualified electronic signature (QES) issuance.

Ralph Post, Fourthline Trust Services AB Board Member: "By building our QTSP infrastructure similar to our sovereign AI-powered platform that drives our industry-leading identity verification, we're able to offer unprecedented security, performance, and innovation. Organisations can now accelerate their digital transformation with a single, powerful partner that handles everything from identity verification to qualified signatures, and everything is built on cutting-edge technology backed by the highest regulatory standards.”

Because Fourthline Trust Services AB is a qualified trust service provider, every qualified signature is fully legally recognised across EU member states giving businesses the cross-border confidence they need to operate and grow. As the regulatory environment continues to evolve under eIDAS 2.0 and the Anti-Money Laundering Regulation (AMLR), working with a QTSP is not just a convenience, it is the foundation of a future-proof compliance strategy.

How it Works for Business Partners

Business partners can start migrating today. As a QTSP, Fourthline Trust Services AB is authorised to create and validate qualified certificates for electronic signatures. This means Fourthline's business partners can now access QES and certificate issuance directly through Fourthline with no intermediary in the chain.

Better User Experience and Higher Conversion

One of the most immediate benefits for business partners and their clients is SMS-free signing, creating a better overall user experience. By removing the requirement for One-Time Passcode (OTP) codes via SMS, Fourthline streamlines the signature flow, reduces drop-off, and drives higher conversion rates all while remaining fully compliant with eIDAS and the relevant ETSI and CEN standards.

For Fourthline's business partners and their end-users, QTSP status is a tangible upgrade to the experience of going digital. Identity verification and qualified electronic signatures now happen within a single, continuous Fourthline session.

"Becoming a QTSP on our own terms is something we've worked toward with real conviction. It's the natural evolution of what Fourthline has always been building: a platform where identity verification and qualified trust services aren't two separate events but one seamless, regulated experience,” said Post.

Positioned for the future of digital compliance

The timing of this certification comes ahead of the new Anti-Money Laundering Regulations (AMLR) set for 2027. The eIDAS 2.0 framework and the forthcoming AMLR are reshaping what it means to run a compliant digital business in Europe. Under AMLR, eIDAS-compliant electronic identification means and relevant qualified trust services are expressly recognised as methods that can support customer identity verification.
