STARK UK expands support for builders through new industry partnership

The company has announced its support for the newly launched Regional Building Foundation (RBF), established by The King's Foundation and the University of the Built Environment. The initiative brings together key stakeholders across the housing and construction sector to strengthen collaboration and support the development of sustainable, locally distinctive communities.

The partnership comes as the UK faces a significant housing shortfall, with industry estimates suggesting a gap of around 6.5 million homes, while the construction sector continues to face challenges including skills shortages and rising costs.

As part of this work, STARK UK has established a dedicated task force focused on regional builders. The team works closely with small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to provide tailored commercial support, improve supply chain reliability and strengthen coordination with local branches and suppliers. The approach is tailored to the needs of locally operating SMEs.

The partnership forms part of STARK UK's broader efforts to support professional builders. Through its “Let’s Get Britain Building – NOW!” campaign, the company is advocating for policy measures to strengthen UK housing delivery across four areas: stimulating demand, VAT reform on refurbishment and retrofit, faster planning through digitalisation, and investment in skills and apprenticeships.

Alongside the campaign, STARK UK has published a “State of the Nation” report that highlights the structural challenges facing the UK construction sector and sets out recommendations to support housing delivery and long-term industry growth.
