Danish company wins Red Dot “Best of the Best” for rethinking the baby bottle

Best of the best is typically given to groundbreaking solutions within technology, mobility, and design. It is therefore remarkable that a baby bottle receives this recognition in a product category that has historically changed very little.

In its statement, the jury highlights that Caramma “redefines infant feeding by not only meeting functional requirements but also putting the relationship between the infant and the caregiver at the heart of the design.”

Caramma is designed for the situations many families face when breastfeeding does not work as expected, or when multiple caregivers need to participate in feeding.

The solution has been developed over five years in collaboration with families and healthcare professionals and is protected by two patents. Based on principles from breastfeeding such as rhythm, vacuum, and closeness, it supports a calmer, baby-led feeding experience in natural breastfeeding positions.

“We have aimed to create a solution that supports families in the moments where breastfeeding needs flexibility and support – without removing closeness and calm from the feeding experience,” says Rie Maktabi, co-founder of Caramma.
