Today, Bellagroup publishes its 2025 ESG Report, marking the group’s first reporting cycle following its B Corp certification achieved last year. The company, which includes Bella Center Copenhagen and its three international hotels in Copenhagen, Copenhagen Marriott Hotel, Crowne Plaza Copenhagen Towers and AC Hotel Bella Sky, is now intensifying its efforts to make sustainability an even more integrated part of daily operations.

In 2025, Bellagroup became B Corp certified as one of the first large venue and hospitality operators globally. The company now aims to build on that momentum by engaging customers and partners even more closely in the practical choices surrounding events, hospitality and the wider value chain.

“We are not experiencing lower expectations when it comes to responsibility. On the contrary, our customers increasingly expect transparency around how we work with climate, resources and social impact in practice. That means we must become even more consistent in the way we operate our business,” says Jesper Mark Dixen, CEO of Bellagroup.

In 2025, Bellagroup therefore further developed its Event Impact Reports, which document the climate footprint of major events and congresses hosted at Bella Center Copenhagen. The reports now include a more detailed data foundation as well as an expanded focus on social impact. At the same time, new Event Impact Guidelines are being developed with the ambition of supporting more responsible decision making together with customers already in the early planning phases of major events and international congresses in Copenhagen.

B Corp as a shared framework

For Bellagroup, the recent B Corp certification is not about being finished with the work. It is about establishing a stronger common framework for the continued development of both the company and the industry.

“B Corp does not mean that we are perfect or that we have solved the question of sustainability. It means that we now have an ambitious and internationally recognized framework that helps us work more holistically with the challenges facing both our business and our industry,” says Frida Ulrik-Petersen, Head of Responsible Hospitality at Bellagroup.

“That is especially important in collaboration with customers, guests and partners. Responsible operations are not something we create alone. They are something we develop together,” she says.

The most difficult work still lies ahead

For Bellagroup, the next phase will largely focus on the areas that are hardest to solve independently. This includes Scope 3 emissions, meaning the parts of the climate footprint that sit outside the company’s own buildings and direct operations. For Bellagroup, this includes areas such as food, transport, materials and activities linked to major events and international congresses.

“Real progress does not happen through strategies alone, but through the choices we make every day. A large part of our impact lies outside our own operations, which makes collaboration with customers, suppliers and partners absolutely essential if we want to create results that last over time,” says Jesper Mark Dixen, concluding:

“As a B Corp, we operate from the understanding that companies both have a responsibility and an opportunity to contribute positively. Sustainability is not something we merely talk about. It is something we work with every single day together with customers, suppliers, employees and partners.”
