Aeven takes over operation of KMD's digital infrastructure
5.3.2024 00:00:00 CET | Aeven A/S | Press release
KMD and Aeven have entered into an agreement to transfer responsibility for KMD's IT infrastructure operations to Aeven. Once the agreement has been approved by authorities, Aeven is looking forward to welcoming new colleagues who, as a part of Aeven, will lift the delivery to KMD's customers.

The two IT companies have signed a letter of intent, meaning that Aeven will be responsible for the operation of KMD's digital infrastructure going forward. The objective is to ensure stable, secure, and adaptable operations across KMD's platforms.
As part of the agreement, employees who currently work on the contract in KMD will be transferred to Aeven. Employees in KMD's current supplier will also have the opportunity to follow along the delivery, all the while Aeven expects to recruit further in the coming year. By this, the next chapter of Aeven's growth strategy is beginning.
CEO of Aeven, Henrik Bodskov, says:
"We are incredibly proud that KMD sees us as the right partner to operate the infrastructure on which they drive their customers' digital solutions. We approach this big task with humility, but also a strong conviction that this will be a good partnership, where we develop the delivery together, while we in Aeven are taking responsibility for stable and secure operation. We are very much looking forward to bringing competencies from both camps into play to the benefit of both new and current customers as well as colleagues."
Aeven is expanding its current organizational setup where the collaboration with KMD will be run. This means that even though it is a big task, it will not lead to changes in Aeven's current organization or the way in which the cooperation with Aeven's other customers takes place today.
"We are significantly expanding our delivery muscle with our future colleagues, which of course will be part of Aeven's ecosystem with all that it entails in terms of knowledge sharing, development, and value creation - both for customers and colleagues," says Henrik Bodskov.
CEO in KMD, Per Johansson, says:
"We are very proud of our achievements in the Danish midrange infrastructure market, but we also recognize the importance of enhancing our services to continuously improve our capacity to provide value to both our customers and society. In order to enable these steps, we have chosen Aeven, to become our new midrange infrastructure service provider. We strongly believe Aeven is the right partner for us, and we are looking very much forward to the collaboration going forward."
Due to the scope of the agreement, including the transfer of employees, it must now be approved by the Danish Competition Authority. It is expected that the transition from KMD's current setup can begin in the second half of 2024.
About the agreement
- As primary supplier of KMD's digital infrastructure, Aeven takes over the entire operation of the IT infrastructure setup at KMD.
- Aeven will take over one data center and the operation of two additional. Once the agreement is approved, Aeven will own three data centers in total.
- The transition from KMD's current supplier is expected to run until May 2025, after which Aeven is expected to operate KMD's infrastructure setup for +300 customers.
- With the transfer of employees from KMD to Aeven, Aeven grows in Denmark and other European locations.
