Going forward, the Danish IT company Aeven will operate, maintain, and support Banedanmark's network, radio, and signaling systems, which are crucial for maintaining stable operation of the public rail transport in Denmark. On Friday November 24, the collaboration was marked with the inauguration of Banedanmark's Network Operations Center (NOC).

As a part of the partnership between Aeven and Banedanmark, Aeven will be responsible for operating, maintaining, and supporting Banedanmark's railway technical IT systems (Operational Technology, OT) going forward. The contract has a provisional duration of five years with the possibility of extension for a further two years.

On Friday, the collaboration kicked off with the inauguration of the new NOC. Here, a dedicated team of experts will monitor networks, radio, and signaling systems on the Danish railway technical IT systems around the clock.

"The opening of the new Network Operations Center marks an important milestone in the collaboration between Banedanmark and Aeven. We want to create a close partnership with Aeven and look forward to the collaboration in the years to come," says Janus Steen Møller, Signal Director at Banedanmark.

Aeven is already responsible for the operation of Banedanmark's administrative IT systems under a separate contract. With the new agreement, Aeven strengthens its customer base, which includes larger Danish companies with complex structures and high requirements for IT operations and data security.

"Managing critical digital infrastructure is based on trust, and we are delighted to expand our partnership with Banedanmark. The collaboration underlines our dedication to supporting the critical infrastructure in Denmark. We look forward to carrying out the important task of securing future train operations together with Banedanmark. In addition to this, we hope to contribute to Danes being able to count on stable operations and choosing the train over the car," says Henrik Bodskov, CEO of Aeven.

Dedicated operations team in Aeven monitors around the clock

As part of the contract, Aeven has established a dedicated operations team with its base in Aeven. Around the clock, the team monitors Banedanmark's network and radio platform to ensure continuous and reliable operation of the business-critical systems that support public rail transport in Denmark.

Secure critical infrastructure through digital solutions

In addition to maintaining the existing operation, Aeven will also help modernize and expand the current tools. This involves a strategic approach to innovating and improving technology to meet future needs and achieve more efficient and modern rail operations.

"Such a development can only take place in close cooperation between customer and supplier. Here, a good relationship is crucial for us to create the best results together. We already have a common history, and we look forward to reaching more milestones together with Banedanmark in the future," says CEO of Aeven, Henrik Bodskov.
