15.12.2025 15:10:35 CET | Systematic | Press release
Romania's first domestically produced armoured fighting vehicle gets NATO-standard C2. Systematic's SitaWare Frontline selected for BlueSpace Technology's VLAH platform, delivering proven command-and-control capability and full Alliance interoperability to Romanian forces.

Systematic's SitaWare Frontline, the world's most widely adopted command-and-control (C2) software amongst NATO member and partner nations, has been chosen as the standard integrated system for VLAH (Autonomous Hydramatic Combat Vehicle), Romania's first domestically designed and produced 4×4 armoured fighting vehicle developed by BlueSpace Technology in partnership with Uzina Automecanica Moreni, whose prototype was recently unveiled to the public in Moreni.
The decision to equip VLAH with SitaWare Frontline marks a significant milestone in Systematic's commitment to supporting NATO nations in advancing defence capabilities and ensuring full interoperability across the Alliance.
SitaWare is the leading C4ISR solution used by NATO member states and partners in various configurations across all force types. It delivers a step-change in digital capability and interoperability, enabling seamless coordination in multinational operations.
By integrating SitaWare Frontline into VLAH, Systematic reinforces its support for Romania's defence industry through combat-proven software solutions developed and refined at Systematic's Bucharest development centre. Here, more than 110 IT professionals—including software engineers, architects, QA specialists, and project managers—work on creating advanced products trusted by allied armed forces worldwide.
“Supporting European defence industrial champions like BlueSpace Technology is central to strengthening NATO's technological edge. With SitaWare Frontline as the VLAH's standard C2 solution, we're delivering combat-proven software that empowers Romanian innovation while maintaining full integration across Alliance operations." – James Hamilton, Systematic’s Vice President Business Development, UK, Western Europe Region and North Africa.
SitaWare Frontline equips VLAH vehicles with complete situational awareness and command-and-control capabilities for the onboard commander, ensuring a detailed operational picture.
The software includes advanced mapping systems supporting multiple map types in both 2D and 3D, integrated force tracking, and planning tools that allow commanders to focus on mission execution rather than system management.
"VLAH represents not only a combat vehicle, but also concrete proof of Romania's ability to reclaim its strategic autonomy in the production of defence technologies, at a level comparable to similar products worldwide. 'Because it can be done in Romania' is a registered trademark of our company, reflecting our vision of the country's real potential to develop this sector of the Romanian economy," said Constantin Pintilie, CEO of BlueSpace Technology.
The partnership between Systematic and BlueSpace Technology demonstrates Systematic's commitment to strengthening European defence capabilities and supporting NATO's technological edge. By working with innovative defence manufacturers, Systematic helps build a robust and interoperable industrial base that enhances collective security.
