The Danish music rights organisation Koda has just been elected to the Board of CISAC – the world’s largest network in the creative sector.

CISAC represents more than five million creators worldwide in music, audiovisual, theater, visual arts and literature. With 227 member societies in 116 countries, CISAC works to protect and promote the rights of creators globally.

“It is a great honour that Koda has been elected to CISAC’s Board. In a time of increasing pressure on the value of creative work, rights organisations are key to securing a fair, transparent and sustainable future for creators worldwide. I look forward to contributing to the important mission of strengthening creators’ rights and supporting a sustainable future for creative content globally,” said Gorm Arildsen.

Dedicated Focus on AI and Music Creators’ Rights
The CISAC Board of Directors is composed of up to 20 elected members and serves as the organisation’s second-highest decision-making body. It is responsible for strategic oversight, financial governance, and the development of international standards for collective rights management.

As a CISAC Board member, Koda and Gorm Arildsen will advocate for several focus areas aligned with Koda’s strategy to take greater responsibility for the development of the global music industry. His priorities include clear licensing principles for AI, fair and timely payments to rights holders, improved metadata collaboration, financial transparency, and the integration of sustainability and mental health into rights management.

All these areas reflect Koda’s strategic ambition to shape the global rights management agenda based on creators’ rights, a stronger music ecosystem, and the industry’s long-term sustainability.
