DLG Group appoints EVP for Sustainability and Communications

As part of DLG Groups commitment to strengthening its sustainability efforts and integrating it further into the business, Claus Stig Pedersen has been appointed as Executive Vice President (EVP) for Sustainability and Communications.

Claus Stig Pedersen joins DLG Group from Deloitte, where he is Equity Partner and Nordic Sustainability Lead. He holds a M.Sc and a Ph.D. from DTU (Technical University of Denmark) and has worked with business-driven sustainability for 30+ years. He has previously been the Head of Global Sustainability at Novozymes and Head of Corporate Sustainability & Quality at Hartmann Packaging.


“We are taking an important step forward by appointing Claus as our new EVP for Sustainability and Communications. It reflects our commitment to integrating sustainability into all aspects of our business and bring results, ensuring that our initiatives are not only strategic in the long term, but also impactful across our business areas and bring value to our farmer owners, in the short term” says Group CEO Peter Giørtz-Carlsen and continues:


“Claus brings a wealth of experience and a strategic approach that will be crucial in driving our sustainability roadmap as well as further strengthening our communications with stakeholders and farmer-owners. I look forward to welcoming him to the team.”


Integrating Sustainability and Communication to Drive Change
Stepping into the role on 1 June, Claus Stig Pedersen will join DLG Group’s Executive Committee. By establishing Sustainability and Communications as a new EVP area, DLG Group will ensure that sustainability initiatives are integrated, driven and communicated consistently and transparently, to engage internal and external stakeholders and owners in the green transformation.

I believe DLG Group has the opportunity to take leadership of the sustainability agenda in the industry and, together with key external stakeholders, drive the agenda forward. We must ensure that the green transformation of the industry becomes good and healthy business for everyone involved, because this is the only way we can drive the necessary changes at speed and scale. DLG Group’s vision aligns well with my personal belief in a data- and business-driven approach to sustainability, and I look very much forward to working closely with my new colleagues and team to drive that agenda,” says Claus Stig Pedersen.

Efter en uge med ustadigt vejr, hvor det har været svært for landmændene at få gang i mejetærskerne, så ændrer billedet sig den kommende tid. Vejrudsigterne lover godt høstvejr, og det kommer på det helt rigtige tidspunkt for landmændene. Afgrøderne er de fleste steder i landet helt klar, og nu skal høsten i hus. ”Vi er klar, og tror på en god høst. Prognoserne for udbytterne er gode. Efter to høstår under middel, så tror vi i DLG på, at i år bliver et over middel år. Det er godt for landmændene, DLG og for samfundsøkonomien,” siger Anders Jeppesen Jensen, Head of Agriculture Denmark, DLG Group. På nuværende tidspunkt har DLG i Danmark fået rundt regnet 25 procent af det forventede høstudbytte leveret ind fra markerne. Den kommende uge tror man på, at hovedparten af udbyttet vil blive leveret fra landmændene. Karsten Espensen, Segmentdirektør Nord: ”Det kommer til at betyde travlhed overalt.
