​International superstar Miley Cyrus confirmed for Tinderbox

The megastar is confirmed for the Danish festival as her only second European show this year and will be added to the poster alongside Eric Prydz, Giorgio Moroder, Stefflon Don and 20 other Danish and international acts

The poster for Tinderbox 2019 already contains huge acts such as Neil Young + Promise of the Real, Swedish House Mafia, Lana Del Rey, A$AP Rocky, Lil Uzi Vert, Billie Eilish, The Chainsmokers, Duran Duran, Greta Van Fleet, The Lumineers, Macklemore and many others. Now, an already impressive program is being completed with the addition of 24 strong acts including the megastar Miley Cyrus, who tops what should be considered the strongest line-up in the festival's 5-year history.

Nobody has like Miley Cyrus converted a career as a popular child star on television to a career as a provocative, colourful, and boundary-pushing pop star, which has turned her into an even bigger and more controversial name. Since Miley Cyrus started releasing music her own name in 2008, she has sold 16 million records, hit the number one on the album chart in the United States three times, and had worldwide hits with songs like "Malibu", "We Can't Stop", and "Wrecking Ball". The latter has more than 1 billion views on YouTube, which was among the decisive factors, when Time Magazine in 2014 for the second time listed her as one of the 100 most influential people in the world.

Most recently, Miley Cyrus appeared on Mark Ronson's latest hit, "Nothing Breaks Like a Heart", where the 26-year-old singer once again showed that whether it's pop, rock, rap, or country, she masters those genres like no other. Miley Cyrus has only once before played in Denmark, so it is a bit of a sensation that the platinum-selling megastar has chosen to play Tinderbox as one of only a handful of European shows this summer.

- We are incredibly excited about the fact that we have managed to get such a huge act for the last round of releases. There has been a great demand for a big pop act, and with Miley Cyrus you have to say that we have delivered one of the biggest in the world right now. The program this year is incredibly strong, and it has required a significantly larger music budget than before. This year we have spent no less than 58 million Danish kroner (€7.7 million) on music, so the price regulation on the tickets are clearly reinvested directly into the line-up, says spokesman for Tinderbox, John Fogde.

Miley Cyrus is joined by 23 other exciting names, where with especially the legendary Giorgio Moroder and the strong dancehall rapper Stefflon Don are worth emphasizing. In addition, you will be able to experience Eric Prydz as the headliner of the EDM stage, Magicbox, this year. The popular Swedish DJ has had international hits such as "Proper Education" and "Pjanoo" and has created remixes for acts like Depeche Mode, Calvin Harris, and Duran Duran. He is in the top 20 on DJ Mag’s list of the world's biggest DJs, and on Saturday evening he will perform at the final act on Magicbox.

This means all the headliners are in place for this summer’s festival. But even if this is to be regarded as the final line-up for Tinderbox 2019, there is still the possibility that a few more acts will be added when we get closer to the festival.
